Can confirm. I've used mine so many times, thankfully never on my truck, but a group 31 makes that pretty much a non issue. So much better than dragging the cables out and potentially blowing fuses every which way

 

I have 2ah and 6ah batteries. I tried both and the power output is definitely lower on the 2ah. So I'll be buying a few more 6ah.

the wire in center is solder, the wheel moves the solder in and out, the uprights are spring loaded grips....

 

hold the wires and apply solder with one hand and hold the iron in the other

personally I think I'll wait for the HF knock-off

 

My soldering skills are poor. I just don't do it that often. I could have used this many of times.

 

Matco guy told me to buy solder elsewhere, that $9 cost is for the bit you see in the handle on the demo. its not "special" just needed to be certain size to work well 2.5mm or something like that.

 

Agreed, but that's pretty steep unless you're doing a lot of soldering.

 

It's only money. HaHa.

 

I wouldn't say I do " a lot " but enough in awkward positions that this was worth the cost.

yes on both counts, I may even get to use it tomorrow installing impact monitors on a pair of forklifts.

 

No, you tell tell them to take it off so you can bench solder it, or nothing at all. If your boss find out he can get you to do the shit jobs, he'll expect it more and more.

 

Im a dealer tech and I bought that cause I thought I would use it a lot since I dont have a 3/8 drive electric ratchet but I hardly ever use it, granted I already have 2554-20 & 2456-20 for tight spaces, I might have to just buy the

I will say its a very powerful tool but at least for me the head has been to big to be much use.

Its great Ive had mine over a year now and I use it every single day, Ive got 2554-20 which is what you said you want, I primarily leave a XC 3.0 or 4.0 in it but if its a tight squeeze I will use the smaller 2.0 battery and itll be fine.
If I was lost all my tools this would defiantly be one that I would buy right away again.

below is how you tap into a factory wiring harness to get inputs for a monitoring device and NOT void factory warranty for tapping into factory wiring harness.....

I did this, and 2 months later I had to claim warranty on the hydraulics, the manufacturer field rep showed up the next morning to inspect, for 3 hours before we finally dove into the hydraulics issue... and then he bought me lunch.

Top is three jumper harnesses made to tap specific circuits
Middle pic is the harness I needed to tap
bottom pic is ignition harness and and oil pressure tap along with the 8pin control everything was duplicated 3x, 1ea for 3 machines. white wires with black box is a diode pack input from 2 sources into one feed, both sources will never be on at same time (direction control)

 

Home Depot usually has deals on these with 3ah Xc batteries, is the 3 enough for most task? Thinking that or bare tool and a 6.0 batt. Kinda want the smallest/ lightest combo. I have an old 1/2 IR for the stubborn stuff. Cali residance so no Rust issues.

 

Anybody planning to take advantage of Christmas sales and add some garage inventory?

 

I ordered a cheap 3/8 drive tekton torque wrench. I was super close to getting an ac/dc tig but the wife shut that down real quick lol

 

Yeah the 3xc is definitely enough I may have to recharge my 12v batteries once or twice a week, I if I were using it all day to take lug nuts and other large stuff off the battery would run down quicker but I usually keep them to 18mm or smaller.
I dont see myself buying any bigger then a 4xc, I guess if I had any of the saws or sds hammers I might buy the 6xc but being a mechanic I don't see that in my future, I have a 18v 9hd for my recip and circular saw cause they will eat up smaller batteries real quick.
Also you can get batteries on ebay for cheep cheep, I bought a pack of 2 3.0xc for like $40 or $50, just make sure its actually Milwaukee in the retail packaging and not a knockoff.
