    Yeah I just learned about it yesterday. Mine looks like trash (because dirt road I'm assuming). This is it after detail, they couldn't get the dullness/dirt look to go away. I'm going to see if I can't find some sort of wax? Or something to shine it up.

    I pointed it out when I showed up and the owner was literally rubbing what he called "lacquer" on it. It looks fine when it's wet and then dries to this.

    I'm sure TRC has something that would restore the wet look/shine.

    Does anyone know why it's a "thing" to remove mud flaps?

    I'm sure the majority of my damage could of been avoided, had they not been removed. Unless SR5's don't come with them?

    Because mud flaps suck if you wheel in the snow or sand where the tires can bury themselves. Then you try to go backwards and only run into the mudflap that is waaaayyyy to long and can only dig down instead going backwards. But I also try to keep my wheels inside the fender and not hanging out 6 inches. Width is good until it causes bearing and steering issues. And tall skinny is king. Just my 2 cents on it. But I would never drive a 3rd gen. I like my 2nd gen, but really miss my 1st gen that I didn't give a shit what it looked like it was for a function. I guess the 2nd gen it there too though. A 3rd gen is too new for the way I use my truck. lol

    Sssshhhh, there are people on here that might think I am young still. LOL

    I thought so. And I am sure you saw the signs, be careful, they don't joke around about staying out of the water. The dunes are a blast! We have a small set we go play in quite a few times a year down by American Falls. And a lot of high speed fun going out across the deserts.

    LOL well on a first gen you don't really have a choice. I am speaking more about the leveled tacoma with -12 17x9's and 265's cause it is sweet to have them poke and stretch. Much like that dodge magnum or 300c or chevy cruze. ok, fine, I am talking about the mall crawlers. They spend the money on a good truck, now use it. Damn children.... LOL

    Damn, you did good! My 35x12.50's hung out on the '98. But they were also on 15x10's. And I was a young'n and didn't care if I threw crap at the paint. The sliders helped though.

    I disagree... I got screwed on my 1st gen when I got it, but that was due to abuse and lack of care from the 1st owner.

    I had that happen to me when I bought my wife her "dream" soccer mom mobile. A grand cherokee SRT8 with 81K on it. Worst vehicle we ever owned by far. Had it 10 months and put over 6K in repairs into it. Traded it in for a 14 Camry and we still love that car to this day. Even pimped out the Camry with lowering springs, wheels, tires, custom leather, color matched emblems and exhaust.....Love that car.

    It was an expensive learning process for me with that truck, but I took many good adventures in it, so I write it off as even. These trucks aren't as bulletproof as people keep claiming if you abuse them and don't do maintenance or pay attention to the temperature gauge running at H before you crack the heads and burn up the trans. Thanks, PO. Thanks, shady dealing covering up these issues when you sold it to me.
