Yeah! My hatch is 30 in a couple weeks. I can get historic plates for it. That will make some of us feel REALLY old.

The problem is even if they don't ask you still need tell them. Because if they find out because of an accident they could just not cover you or drop you right after.

Yeah, I don't believe the Tuk route still be available by then. I am sure the residents will want to stay healthy as much as possible and keep the region locked.
We could have a back up plan for the tuk trip. Something like Yukon, bc or Alberta.

Do you guys have any suggestions for light weight rims? I believe @tacoma16 rims are in the 20lb. range.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages to going with 16" vs 17"?

    Thanks.

16" gives more potential sidewall. 17" might have more options available. That's about all I can add

16"s are going to be lighter because aluminum weighs less than rubber.

There are two 10.5" wide 35" tires (Kenda Klever RT and Goodyear MT/R) which are only available in 17" size. 17"s also allow fitment of larger brakes from the 4Runner or StopTech 6-piston.

Lightest 16" wheels are Volk Racing forged (~14 lb) but they're ~$4000 a set. Chinese flow-formed knockoffs (~16 lb) from FN are $1100 a set from Cochrane Toyota. I've run these for a couple of years and currently use one on my spare.

FN also has a few 17" designs in the 20 lb range: https://www.tacomatownonline.com/collections/fn-wheels

Definitely a lot here in Ontario.
I managed to get mine, and I used the $150 gift card I snagged on his Black Friday/ Cyber Monday deal for 20% off!

I have almost every single one of MESO's mods and they really are great. I'm anxious for spring and warmer weather to install the puddle pods and also the new 3red brake light with the KC Cyclones.

I went 17” because of thinking ahead for future brake upgrades and the availability of tire choices (17” are cheaper because of availability).

Thanks, I'm not looking to fit 35's though, just 33's. I just want to keep the new wheels and tires as light as possible to keep the stress on the components as low as possible.

I'm a bit hesistant to dick with the factory seal on the 3rd brake light for fear of leaks  That's why I just put a clear lens over the factory housing.

You installed the Meso mirror turn signals already? Lots of plastic flexing to get the mirror caps off eh? I got the CarTrimHome turn signals and made a point to install them when the temps were in the 20s.

I insured my hot rod 51 Dodge coupe with Hagerty. All they did was ask questions - drive train replaced, horsepower, custom paint and body, do you take it to timed events? Insured for $15,000. No pictures sent. If the car is totaled, I get the car back (if I'm alive... lol).
