3rd Gen Magnuson Supercharger Review & Discussion

There is a truck with the charger and software installed currently at the CARB facility being tested. When it will be finished is anyone's guess, but it is there and the process is ongoing.

yep just pull it out and put the hose back on. Some simply remove it - drill the hole to a larger size and put it back in. The Performance and Tuning thread has a sticky for the 2nd gen magnuson sc that has a lot of information on this mod - all positive.

 

That blows!!!, hope the driver was okay and things where made right.

 

I’ve made some more progress on the sound tube mod I’m working on. I’ve got a maybe 10% increase in sound now. It’s almost there. I’m looking for more like 20%. I can hear the whine even while I’m still in vacuum now as long as the bypass is slightly open.
Here’s what I started with.

I think I’m going to do one more redesign from my current layout (similar to the photo I posted a couple days ago). I need to design and 3D print one part though so I can make an inlet before the MAF sensor instead of where I have it now.

 

She walked away and it took 7 months of back and forth. Save all of your receipts! I was compensated 100% of my mods, etc.

 

If you design that, print those bad boys and sell the kit! Do you have a printer or FDM?

 

No I just use solidworks and send it off. These parts are all off of a junkyard 2015 mustang.

 

Solid works is awesome! I used to work in the industry for about a decade. I was a prototype model maker. I miss the cool stuff that would hit the shop.

 

What are they warning you about?

 

Just that I wouldn’t feel the significant difference like the 5.7L. The 5.7 went from ~380hp to ~ 540hp... which was absolutely noticeable!
They (Magnuson) just wanted me to understand that they aren’t comparable. I will see significant performance gain but not push you to the back of the seat gains like the 5.7.

Any of you use Jon at Magnuson for your purchase? waiting on him to call me back to follow up on contact number provided and pricing. hour glass is near empty before I call ^^^ and someone else gets credit. ???

 

I used Derick as well. I called one time and we did everything immediately in about 15 minutes.
Another person called me the next day for payment.

 

I just spoke to him because I was curious if they were going to confirm that they received my warranty paperwork and he told me that I just need to have the same documents that I sent in and I’m covered (regardless whether they received them).

 

He must have felt the heat - got back to me today with his direct number - conversation soon. Should know up or down by this time next week. Could be a really long and cold winter, or not!

 

Still no software response from Magnuson... ugh

 

What is the issue? / what are you waiting on

 

Kendall Toyota of Eugene says that Magnuson hasn’t received the sw key or code (not quite sure) for the supercharger. Magnuson is pointing the finger at the 3rd party SW mfr??? I assume that may be you? (Based on research regarding their 3rd party resource) Their, Magnuson’s, communication sucks! I guess my truck is sitting at Toyota waiting for the software to reflash... I apologize, if this sounds a bit convoluted, I have been piecing together the “workflow”. The install has been completed minus the sw.
