I’m always late to the party. Manitou makes some great forks although not as common these days as they were in the 1990’s early 2000’s. I remember when they launched the rear facing fork bridge on the Black model around 2002’ish. Lots of controversy on claims they it’s a stiffer design than conventional. A patented design that they've carried on ever since. Just not as common to see them these days so few know about them unless they are as old as dirt like myself.

Ordered. 29x2.6 Mazzas since the Martello is out of stock in 29x2.6. I can retun one for the other if theyre in stock later.

Also got a set of wolftooth headset spacers and a wolftooth silver seat clamp. I'm so stoked for this frame to get here!

Y'all are entertaining, and I don't think it's just TW. Everyone analyzes the shite out of everything in the MTB world, it's really fun coming in from the BMX world and people ask your opinion on a very controversial topic and your response is "Meh, whatever works, don't care" blows minds.

All this bike talk. Might have to stop on my way home form work today and grab a pair of DCs and get back on the saddle of the ol' BMXer haven't ridden that thing in years!

Much truth to all of this! I'm nursing some injury right now and its about to snow. Next thing you know I'll start a conversation about handlebar diameters. :argue:

It’s funny to me too. I don’t get wrapped up in a lot of the analysis. I just ride my bike. As long as it feels good and shifts well I don’t really care. Grip it and rip it.

I know the joke you were going for, but I think I laughed even harder at the fact that it's just a fair assessment that every MTB rider has calipers on their desk

    .....as do I.

Underrated bike tool. I've had the spec sheet on a Specialized bike tell me the seat post was 27.2 when the calipers CLEARLY identified it correctly as 31.6.

Specialized then tried to tell me I measured wrong when I told them of their goof. It was later corrected.

The fact I'm an accountant makes the desk calipers even funnier.

Right now I'm using breach plug grease. Once I run out of that I'll prolly get some general purpose from hardware store

That's true though. I somehow have a pair of calipers and use them way more often than i would have expected

Well I went out to do mild trails and ended up doing more haha. @honda50r we did McKay Hollow and I think a newer trail called Rocky Nightmare that was super fun. We timed McKay hollow really badly and had to hike a bike out the bad end in the dark. I mean the BAD end. We had to sometimes hand the bikes up to one that climbed first then continue on that way. About an hour to climb .5 mile of hell. And it got dark.

but bright side. The Vittoria tires and GX Derailleur felt great and did wonderful. I climbed stuff easier with these tires, and was less tired than I have previously been before. Even after a 3 week break where I sat on my ass a lot. Felt good to ride and I felt really confident.

I’m a mutant. I love it when it’s 95 and humid, that’s my favorite riding.

I lose just as many days to snow and snow melt in Colorado as I will to humidity in Alabama.
