    @brandon78lusch
    I dropped out and have been working full time(ish) since I was 17. I've made more money than most college grads in the blue collar land. It doesn't take rocket science to make a good living all it takes is hard work, dedication, and a drive to further yourself. After that success it's all downhill to smoother sailing and an easier life.

    Never rule out any sort of tech/vocational schooling. Good money to be made as a mechanic, HVAC, elechicken, Lineman, shipwright, etc. You can easily get business degrees and stuff like that via the interwebs and this day and age unless you wanna become some big hot shot engineer and work for a giant global firm MIT and the big names like that are pointless.

    What @Bannerman said don't accrue exponential debt look at your return on investment with college. You don't need to spend a lot to make a lot. Your education is only as far as the nearest library. Some of the richest people in the world never finished college and some of the most intelligent minds in the world, which you study in college, never made it out of or barely did make it out of HS.

    Like @SearArtist said go to community college first take a bunch of different electives and see what kind of things you like then focus on the latter 2 years after transferring.

    If you really want to man up go into the military or military academy (second choice). You can do everything from a grunt to become a Dr or engineer and get paid then retire collect retirement and go into the private sector. You'll get paid for this education too you just gotta be wiling to sign that contract of being with them for a few years post becoming one.

    In the ever wise words of Mike Rowe follow opportunity, if you haven't listened to any of his stuff you should.

    That's my $.05 after what I've seen and my personal experience. There are lots of avenues never rule any out completely.

    I already had three major/emergency plumbing jobs earlier this year. I’m over this house. Ready to sell it and move on.

    This.

    I’d likely do things differently if I could do it over. I have a bachelors that I’m not using, and an associates(that I got after bachelors) that’s made me money.

    Look into vocational programs.

    Also, one thing my littlest brother has done which I didn’t even know about, is ROTC through college. They paid for his education, gave him a stipend in addition through school, and he had a guaranteed job when he graduated. That’s hard to beat, especially considering you come out of school an officer.

    Yeah ROTC is like one of the military academies but at other colleges and universities, that's another great avenue too!!!

    As info, when we replaced our old furnace back in July and they had to retrofit in a heat pump it was just shy of $15k and that was a high end unit as well.

    looking at ~$10-11k for this next one, sigh.

    Excellent advice right here. I deal with commerical MEP trades every day. Some of those guys do VERY well. Additionally, that workforce is currently aging out, once those guys retire (and it's already happening) there is going to be a serious skilled labor void, so the guys are still around will be in even higher demand.

    I've got two little brothers, 20 and 22, once is studying mech eng at State, the other I have pushed to start in a trade, I think they will both do well. But going to college to get a general degree does not have the guaranteed ROI that it once did. And even specialized degrees you need to make sure you pick the right field.

    they are all about the same. I'm going with Victory4x4, mainly because the light bar mount is better and I know my big ass BD light bar will fit without any major modifications.
