It's just another opinion, but Can-Back is still the best looking, highest quality for 3rd gen and it doesn't exist anymore.

I dont think they are around anymore, but they were like $2k+ for their toppers.

But it had a very rigid frame that you could actually put a roof top tent on.

    Shameless plug :)

Full disclosure, it was a major PITA dealing with this vendor. I was told 4-6 weeks due to demand and it took north of 6 months to receive 90% of my order. I had to do a dispute to recoup the cost of missing pieces.

The lines fit the shape of our trucks much better, the canvas is much higher density, I think 600D, the quality of the windows is much higher. (I have no fading after 2+ years of it being on 24/7/365). The construction is very well thought out and has the ability to support a roof rack above it.

What the fuck. Damn. At that point tho...just get abed rack, a soft topper, and put the RTT on that, all for less than the actual canvas thingy lmao

I ended up doing that anyway haha. It was actually a really nice set up. There weren't any options for a rack around a softshell other than the custom route until a couple years ago. SOS, dissent and I think Uptop can fit them now and they have made pretty good strides in perfecting them.

It will be worth the wait. I’m thrilled I got mine. I like the look of the truck better when I just had a trifold on it, but in terms of function can’t beat a cap. Bed rug makes a nice addition. I added Cali raised bed stiffeners and sumo springs. On a long bed anyway the cap will cause a little sag. Get all the options you want/need. I got them all pretty much. Vented windoors, carpet, fold down front window, 12v light, Yakima rails and aero bars, etc was OTD around $2600. Had to drive a few hours each way to find that price.

I’m really interested in getting a soft top. My only concern is that I occasionally use my sliding rear glass for my one piece fishing rods. Does the soft top allow the rear back panel to be easily removed or opened? The rods stick out about 2ft into the bed. 711C1D2E-9164-4E4C-8D75-EAFB78C2604C.jpg

Yes. They make a "doggie window" kit. Highly recommended.

Yes. The front and rear panels are velcro'ed in place along the top and sides. The only problem is that I think if you remove the front panel, it might catch air and do bad things?

The accessory page has a lot of stuff including this:

Super easy actually. Use a straightedge to sharpie on your lines, and unlike me who free handed it :anonymous:, use the edge again to guide your knife.

The doggie window has plenty of overlap so the potential of rain intrusion is minimal. It also hides my sloppy cutting.

Now if I roll the rear up I roll the front too and I can feel the difference if I have the back window open. It makes those windows-down drives that much more fun.

    Nice!

    Thanks for the tips.

The slider is my favorite window. It is open anytime that it isn't raining. I get less air with the ST. This might fix that?
