Just went to look for an 8” bench grinder (the orange one). Stopped by three separate HFs and they were all out of stock but noticed that most of the bench grinders were on clearance. Website removed them as well. From my time in retail this usually means a new product is coming into replace current stock. Anyone have any heads up?

The 15% off any item (including floor jacks) coupon is a better deal unless you're getting a really cheap jack.

I picked up the yellow super duty floor jack this afternoon for $185 (coupon is 20% off with the inside track membership so I mooched my buddy's). Decided on it over the low profile long reach because it had bearings in alot of connections that were just a pin through a hole in the frame on the low profile long reach. Also liked the abundance of grease zerks on it. Pretty stoaked to try it out on some suspension work as soon as I get a break in the rain.

I have the one with tallest reach. I am pretty sure someone knows someone who has the club membership ;)

True. I’m all for the right things from HF but I feel like everyone has that buddy that insists EVERYTHING there is just as good as the name brand... so naturally he’s a member of the club.

I think we have the same jack. I’m pleased with mine. I’ve used it on my truck a number of times between my suspension swap and yearly snow tire swap.

I got the second one. I don’t think you can go wrong either way but went with the super duty. And yes only yellow on that one.

It had bearings in a few pivots that the low profile long reach didn’t, more grease zerks, and the hydraulic piston was slightly larger. This appealed to me more than the extra 1” of travel.

Also worth mentioning I picked this up Christmas shopping for myself so I wasn't paying for it and didn’t worry about the price difference.

Lots of folks have also said great things about the low profile long reach on here.

Also definitely 100lbs. They’re hefty, they carted it out to my truck on a hand cart.

I know, I need to get a heavier gauge extension if I'm going to do that.

I ground off what galvinized coating was left beforehand (that fence is the better part of 40 years old) it's mostly just paint covering it now. Plus I'm running flux core which helps take care of any galvinizing material left over.

Today I picked up a combo 1" x 30" belt sander and 5" disc sander. I have an old HF 3" belt/disc sander and it is a POS. When you try and sand on it there is not enough power and it just stops. I was worried that this might be the same but it is not. After some assembly required I kicked it on and grabbed a 3" screw since it was close and shoved it into the belt. Sparks went flying and it chewed the head off in seconds.

Next I did the same with the disc. It was just as powerful. For what I will do next I replaced the 60 grit belt with a 120 grit one. The 5" disc is an adhesive backed one. I didn't look for replacements or other grits yet.

So far I give it a big thumbs up.

I would prefer the . although it doesn't have quite the reach as the Daytona it only weighs 63 Lbs. I have the 2.5 for years and it works great but might get the 3 at some point for the extra 1" of lift. The 2.5 is only 54 Lbs.

I have had the full steel ones from HF in the past including the long reach one but got tired of lugging around all the weight of a steel jack and got rid of them.

You can add the pro eagle extension to your aluminum jack to add some height and versatility. I added the base plate to both my old Pittsburgh 3 ton steel jack and the 2 ton aluminum jack and I can swap the extension between the two as needed.
I’d also recommend buying the pad and extension from Kartek rather than directly from pro eagle to save a few bucks.

I don’t buy anything jack / jack stand related from a company until they have not one, but two recalls for the same thing. And a coupon.

My wife is a nurse working in the coov unit. She was eyeing my Uvex bionic face shield but it was a little heavy to wear for a 12 hour shift.

I picked her up a which is still way more sturdy than the ones her work provides but still light weight enough to wear all night.

She said it was a big hit at work and everyone was asking her where she got it.

I stopped by one at lunch today and grabbed the three they had so she can share.

Picked up this cart to be able to roll tolls between garage and shop. Pretty impressed with it. It's as strong, it not, more durable than my neighbors blue point.
