Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    Would not consider it UNLESS:
    - One can tap into the 7-pin trailer outlet reverse circuit.
    - It needs to fit pretty much flush with the end of the receiver tube so backing into something is less likely to destroy it, AND
    - It has a smoked lens to make it less conspicuous.

    • You could wire it any way you would like, but tapping the trailer reverse circuit is certainly an option. I'm kicking around the idea of making an adapter harness to allow you to plug directly into there, but that's not on the short list at the moment.
    • It couldn't sit perfectly flush unfortunately. Wouldn't be enough support material around it, and you wouldn't be able to get a hitch pin in there as the heatsink of the S1 would be too far back. This will hopefully reduce your chances of backing into something in the first place!
    • Smoking the lens would unfortunately defeat the purpose. Nothing stopping the end user from doing that though! It would still be proper bright with a smoked lens.

Then you just wire that guy into a switch! Easy enough!

Although I would never condone that... :)

I was kicking this around with @memario1214 The 7 pin I believe is an option, but my personal recommendation was creating a tee to tap it off of the reverse light. This would require the removal of the tail light initially (there would be a local weatherpack to disconnect if you need to use the hitch or what ever, so you don’t have to remove the tail light every time or anything), but I think would be a cleaner install as you don’t have anything hanging out of the trailer receptacle. I’m sure memario1214 will take some pictures and everyone can see what I’m talking about.

I think that's the best P&P option. I'd pay to add that on.

Read the part in parentheses. You would just unplug it.

The 7 pin is an option. Having a wire hanging off my bumper isn’t an option I would ever consider. But both are doable

You can use something easy like this... easy plug and play for an additional connection. Would be cool if it tied into brake, blinker, hazard, and reverse.

No tapping, think of a short extension cord in line with the reverse bulb in your taillight. Then another connector hidden under your bumper where you can easily remove the light when needed. You'd be able to 100% revert to stock without any wire damage if you wanted to.

That’s a lot going on for one light! A brake light would be an easy option as well. Easier on the 2nd gen, but still real easy on the 3rd gen as well. The other issue with using a trailer adapter is you are limiting to trucks with that plug. I know they became standard in the later years, but I am pretty sure there are a lot of 2nd gems without the plug?
