I don't think that works with port installed options? Even before they were removed from the box, I asked the dealer to swap the rubber mats to the carpeted and got shot down because they came with the allocation.

Or just buy a nice YETI Tundra 45 or 65 cooler and call it a day. This is a silly ass option to offer.

I was looking for the trail edition because of the options it had. I know I could have saved some by going aftermarket. For me it was easier to get what I wanted up front. Didn’t have to explain to she who monitors the credit cards. I pulled the boxes and sold them in two days.

    Somewhere hot, flat and brown.
Man, tough crowd! I don't think I'd personally want it but I do think there will be plenty of people who do. To echo what some others have said above, pickups are becoming lifestyle vehicles for many buyers - people that will NEVER do any real work aside from taking home some pretty flowers and bags of mulch home from the hardware store once or twice a year.

This could also turn into one of those rare oddball options that few people got new and becomes sought after years later. That happens all the time in the car world.

Place a Yeti sticker on the insulated side and there will be a line of Texans buying one for $900.

I personally think the boxes are a waste of space. The most useful part is for and aft of the wheel wells. The shape would not work so great for packing food and drinks. Most of the ice would be at the ends and as it melts the top part over the wheel will get warm.
I get that you still might like all the other stuff in the package so some will still buy it and pull the boxes out or sell them. If the storage box doesn't have a water proof lid to me that's not of much value.
You could get a tonneau cover some rubbermaid boxes and a cooler and you would have more secure and dry storage.

I can see toyota dropping this after a year.

Wow that looks pretty bad. Maybe leave that option to the after market.
