What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Someone told me they are blind bearings or something, I don’t recall. I have the 8 PSI pulley on the SC but I’m only getting about 4.5 PSI. Apparently due to the worn Teflon coating, but the methanol would dissolve it anyway wouldn’t it

 

I’m at sea level and am only seeing 4.5 psi with the 2.37 pulley.

the teflon shouldn't make a 4psi drop. Maybe like 1-1.5 if it's worn out I'd think. 4 is a lot. You sure you don't have a vacuum leak somewhere?

 

Decided to drill some small holes in the dash instead of buying a switch blank.
Itllbe nice to have the mic not laying around anymore

 

That’s what Zane keeps telling me. My fuel trims aren’t very close to 0, it’s usually +/- 10-15. I cannot find any leak though, I hooked up a smoke machine and it’s leak free. It could be somewhere in the SC case.

It’s always been like that. The most boost I’ll ever get is 5 PSI and I’m at sea level.

Well I thought the stock pully on that blower was only goo for 4psi anyways. Unless you added a smaller pulley?

 

Not very exciting, but I got my ungodly amount of electrical stuff organized today and decided to restart working on my bussman fuse box/switch panel project. Thus far, I’ve installed my switches into their holes and drank 4 beers trying to decide how I’m going to wire the switches and the LED’s. I bought dpst switches from otrattw and want to be able to have a constant 12v power supply for all 5 and a power supply for 4 of the switches that comes from my brights circuit and one power supply coming from my reverse lights.

My big indecision has come from how I want the independent led’s to work. Thinking I’m going to have the bottom led that will illuminate the writing work and dim with my gauge cluster and my top led’s illuminate when the accessory is actively on.


the first from the left spot will be for a spot beam light. Not sure if it will be pods or a bar yet. Unsure of what will go between the ditch and rear lights and also unsure of what will go in the #6 hole. That won’t be connected to a relay on the bussman box though, since there are only 5 relay locations.

Can’t seem to find it, but I thought someone had posted in here within the last few weeks about replacing their 12v sockets with USB ports. Ring a bell to anyone?

 

I just plug in the low profile ones and call it a day. Easy to change later if it breaks or needs change.

 

He's got a 6.5psi (roughly) pulley installed. I'm sure he's got a vac leak somewhere l, or his engine is just plum wore out... Which I doubt

 

Yes, I have the Underdog 8 PSI pulley. Not sure what diameter it is.

 

Not an 8psi pulley. 6.5psi pulley. LCE is the only one that made 8 and 10 psi pulleys and believe me you don't have them.

Ah, okay. That makes more sense. Would I ever get 6.5 PSI?

 

I peaked at 6, I attributed the .5 knockoff to having very free flowing exhaust and my custom large intake.

 

I wish I could figure out my vacuum leak. I have no idea where to start. Smoke machines shows no leaks and spraying starting fluid everywhere yields no results.
