25 years ago I wouldn't have considered myself a person real fond of cats, or a, "cat person". I've really grown to appreciate them now and each their uniqueness. Skidder will often look up at me and meow as if to just say hi, I'll say hi back. Then sometimes I'll say hi first and she'll say hi back, lol sounds funny I'm sure, but I think it's cool. The other little one likes to jump in my bed every night and apply her 80 grit tongue to my face, then bail because I toss and turn frequent.

Please don't remove a wild skunk from their habitat. Skunks as pet are legal only in a handful of states and while the perpetrator receives only a minor penalty, the skunk will be killed. Even if it's legal in your state, county, *AND* municipality, please look closely into what it takes to raise and to care for a skunk. They are *NOT* for everyone; from their dietary requirements to their personality shift to the availability of medical care (only one veterinarian clinic in Columbus OH that will take a skunk and will not kill a skunk when a staff is scratched and/or bitten).

Now if you're still hell bent on getting a pet skunk, please check skunkhaven.net for more details.

He goes in next week for another follow up for his mysterious eye issues, luckily I think we may have just got everything correct with the meds as his eyes are looking clear and bright like before :D

In this photo, Harper (left) and Winston are eating meals composed of mainly carrots, broccoli, and bell pepper. They're supposedly litter siblings. They're about 2.5 years old.

Woh you weren't joking when you said pole cats .
I may be the odd ball here, but people have always made such a big deal about how much they stink, but it's never bothered me, in some ways it doesn't smell bad.

    But I'd imagine yours can't spray anymore.......orrrrr I'ma wrong?

When a kitt blinks while looking at you they are 'cat kisses'. Blink back when your cat does it to you.

Slow blink back from a cat means they trust you. Awesome communication, do the same and return the slow blink. Your cat will get it.

You're right; all my skunks have been descented since they were 2-3 weeks old. It is one of the legal requirements in the state of Ohio.

Very few people like the smell of a skunk spray, you're not alone. My wife doesn't mind it in lesser strength up to a point far before it's strong enough to make eyes water.

I was thinking weed, and that must be why they call some Skunk:rasta:
How did you come to having little skunkers? I would've had to named them PePe and the other Le Pew or something like that...[IMG]

On a side note, when I was about 6-7, my Aunt gave me and my bro two basset hounds, my bro named them Cheech and Chong:laughing:
