Unrelated... Is that anodizing failing (starting to turn purple), or is that just a direct sunlight issue?

    Direct sunlight. Under normal light it is darker than the dirty plastic trim;

Okay I have a few questions for the group then since we're here:
    • This will not come included with a hitch pin by plan. Is it worth it for me to include one with it as a "kit"?
    • Wiring
      • Right now I am working on a plug-and-play harness that will allow you to tap your lights going to your tail lights for power as well as trigger for reverse.
      • Do you want it or is everyone doing their own wiring?
      • If so, how much would you be willing to pay for a plug-and-play option?

Since you value my opinion... ;)

No hitch pin (I think most have one?)

I'd use something like this to make a wiring harness, so if you can do something similar that plugs in behind the bumper or connects in line behind the taillight (Meso should have info on sourcing those connectors since they are used in the total tails) I'd be interested. If it's a plug and play that goes up to the trailer connections in the bumper, I'd prefer to make my own.

Im not getting this light, but as a normal consumer who likes products I can give you some feedback.

1: dont include a hitch pin by default, a good part of the people here already got their instagram hitch shackle that just sits in their bed not getting used, so they probably already have a pin. Offering one as a add on would be nice for the people who dont have one though

2: I can see this as being a nice time for a multi use plug and play setup. Make a harness that plugs into the factory hitch wiring, but also has a additional set of wires coming out that a user can setup for a on/off switch. So 2 relays, one triggers with reverse lights, the other triggers with a switch, then package them up in a small case that can be stuck between the quarter panel and the bed.
If I were to buy something like this, chances are I would use it more to light up behind me while outside of the truck and in that case I would want a switch in the bed that is constant hot. I can see others wanting this to be able to turn on in a trail setting to illuminate everything around them so they would want a switch in the cab.

I have aux reverse already from license plate delete in reverse harness.

Working on my crimping skills so I can one day make my own.

if you have parking lights and reverse then it’s just one weatherproof relay and two connectors to defeat plate lights in reverse.

My 2 cents, plug and play is the best and I wire things for a living so am more than capable.

I agree don’t include the locking pin, readily available and gives people things to bitch about on a part that you have no QC over.
