Yea Jason mentioned the Falkens were heavy.. good to know. Already have the STTs though. Just waiting on the wheels. Might look into additional siping.

yeah, if you're going to be in snow/wet/ice a lot i highly recommend siping... after that they were really good in those conditions. (better than my ST Max's, Maxxis Bighorns AND my original KO's)

 

i had them a few tires ago. they treated me well. put the STTs on the FJC last year, so we'll have both trucks on them. i wanted to go back to the Trxus MT, but i couldn't find a good deal on them and i know the STTs will last longer.

gone through a good selection on the truck so far. OEM Goodyears, KO2, Duratrac, MTR, STT, STT Pro, Trxus MT, KM3 and now back to STT Pro. and a winter with Yokohama Geolander G072 (looks like they are no longer making these)... we got the FJC with Nitto Trail grapplers on them, switched those out quickly to MTR and now they're on STT Pro.

 

damn, that is a good sample. how did you like the MTR's?

 

garbage if you have any winter... did great wheeling though. better than the Nittos though, which isn't saying much

having them on the FJ was why we got a winter set to swap on

 

I was considering them but a few people warned me off... thanks for confirming

 

I love the MTRs overall in all other situations....other than winter.

I still think they are a stellar offroad tire.

Nice. I think you and I are in the running for longest rig running with a crack along the bottom of the windshield.

 

How long you at? Mines been atleast 6 years if not more. Then I got a rock or something that manage to smash into the windshield below the crack. It all looks bad and I’m in no hurry since it’s not noticeable

 

Got me beat. Think Im at 5...maybe 6.

 

yea kayla tells me everytime she's in it that she's going to replace it.. i keep telling her there's better places to put money besides a windshield.. the crack is below my sight line

 

shit making me want to look back through photos now to see how long it's been!

 

Looks like this windshield is only about a year old cracked... it's a baby compared to those!

Seems like it's always cracked tho... big reason why I wait so long since it just gets cracked every year

 

March 2021 will be 8 years, got a few chips from AK to Washington but surprisingly nothing too recent

I guess I thought yours was way longer, must of been the previous one

 

Here is mine. The big circle on the bottom is recent. The crack above is the one that’s been there forever. Also, I had a ding in the first 2 months owned it. Got it from a rock the first time I lived in CO back in 2006.

 

Every time I replace mine it has a new crack in it within a few months. The FJ is even worse - the angle of the windshield makes for large craters instead of little chips and cracks. I blame our "road sand" (aka 3/4" gravel) on the highways for half the year. Is that the culprit in CO too?

 

Yea pretty much... even with all the desert and forest roads, it's normally on the highways when something gets kicked up during the winter.
