"Yup, my uncle told me dirt will dull a chain instantly too. I try really hard to avoid it because I am terrible at sharpening chains."

Pfred chain sharp. Can't recommend it enough (obviously, at least the 3rd time here). They keep the depth guages correct height every time for consistent cutting. Maybe 5 minutes, if you flip the bar and clean up...10 minutes per sharpen.

Split/ stacked a cord of wood. Scavenging some laid trees. Cut to length and had 4 wagon loads until the snow made it to muddy. Didn’t wanna get stuck doing a solo run today. Just put a new carb on my sthil 038. Trying to adjust the high mix to slow down the rpm. It peaks at over 13000, spec is 10200. The screw backed out until it fell out and no difference. Any ideas? Air leakage giving too lean a mix? Leak from where?

Air leaks are tough to find without proper tools... I gave up on my small saw for now until it bugs me enough to put more time into or retire it.

Don’t remember the brand, but that looks exactly like the trailer I lived in while I was in college in the 80’s. Think it was 20 years old at the time.

This is the saw I use with my mill. The mill was $179 if I remember correctly.

I have both. Both are great saws. If I'm milling on my chainsaw mill I use the 362. If I need to do some cutting/tree work I always grab my 261. The 362 can get heavy after working it a while.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I have a Stihl power tool and accessories catalog and it pretty shows pretty everything they sell. The full specs for all their saws are in there, with Power, weight , fuel cap, and other specs. The 261 and the 362 both come with or without the "C M " designation. The "C m" is the "M-Tronic " engine control system. I have and really like the 262CM. I had my dealer put a 20 inch bar and the bigger size chain on it. Even with this it is still lighter than the 362 CM. They both (CM's models ) have the compression release which I wanted. This with the quick starting of the CM 's have made me a happy (old) camper. I am sure the 261 and the 362 in the non CM versions are really good saws as well. If you are not a fan of the electronic control of the engine and want to pay less --they may be OK for you. If you need more on the exact specs, I can look them up for you. Send me an a PM if you need it, let me know. My saw has been flawless, and cuts like mad. The 362's are the bigger brothers of the 261's. Both along with the 462, and up are consider pro level saws. I paid $545.00 for mine with the 20 inch bar and bigger size chain -also got the extra yr warranty by buying the synthetic oil with the deal. I did resell my 18/YO 310 for $180.00, so that helped me feel a bit better about buying this great saw
Of course if you are a "MNO" kind of a guy (money's no object) then go for the new 500i . It costs between 1200 - 1300 bucks, and you will have the baddest new and only fully fuel injected saw on the block! I have seen nothing but praise on it's performance, although sort of "costly".
