because most folks that run components are after the sound that 6.5 inch speakers deliver. However those IDs are very nice just kind of spendy . . .

I'm here for knowledge folks, please feel free to inform me. Yeah, why not 6x9's?

I'm considering ordering a new speaker set up soon and I've been considering 6.75" fosgate punch components but now i've heard so much about the 6x9's i'm considering the 6x9 fosgate punch 2 ways.

    Anyone have input/suggestions on this?

Hybrid Audio has the Imagine line of speakers that are 6x9 convertable speakers. so you can run it seperate or coax

6x9s were most likely designed for space restrictions in vehicles, not sure, but I'd be willing to bet. There has to be a reason that ALL home speakers use round components only? They reproduce more accurate sound.

there is nothing wrong with using a 6x9 for quality sound. Its all in the tuning, and besides who wouldnt want a larger cone driver in the doors?
What happens though, is that by nature of design, the "corners" of a 6x9 are slightly more stiff then the rest of the cone.
