    Being realistic as to where I'll want to go with my rig and how little I'll actually use it.

    Love wheeling, but I ain't crawling rocks...and if I did want to, I may just get an older pick up.

    Yeah, several guys do that have posted on here, and after reading up, it's why I chose my Harrop e locker.

    But I kept thinking, that thing will just sit in the closet another year or so. :burp:

    Yeah I don't know how practical a front would be for me either, can get through a lot with a rear locker. If you need a front it usually means you're on those guaranteed trail damage kinda of trails at least around here.

    I've never had it high on they priority list but if I had they money burning a hole in my pocket I'd do it to have it

    Just looking at the scatter plot graph for Tacomas and LX470s the prices started shooting up after July. I don't know what started the market craze. I see people selling their 100s at extremely high prices that would normally keep them. I'm glad that I bought mine at the market low point in January.

    It looks like this market is good for Tacoma and 100 series owners. I've learned that ARB and other likes from Australia have been crash tested and support airbag function. ARB has crumple zones that might keep the frame from being damaged when someone hits a deer or wild hog. Many people around here (present company included) have hit a deer or a hog at some point. That's why I wanted a strong bull bar like ARB. I see aluminum bumpers that have a bolt-on bull bar. It wouldn't take much to rip that off.

    Not that hitting a hog won't bring a lot of damage. I feel like I need a strong enough bumper to make it out of the woods.

    Don't get too spoiled by Moab though, that dry grippy rock is unusual most everywhere else lol. Here its all loose dirt, that's why I had a hard time going for it at first on a couple of those steep shelves in Fins and Things, out here those kinds of steep rock climbs would take a helluva lot more effort. I wasn't used to having all that traction that you get there

    I would imagine Moab in the snow would be crazy, wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the trails in the actual park get closed when there's snow

    I bought the Harrop eLocker to overcome two weaknesses with the 99 model that were corrected later on.

    1) Two pinion front diff. Likes to explode when dropping down from wheel in the air. Harrop provided a stronger 4 pinion setup.

    2) No A-Trac. Later models provide traction control to almost give the benefit of a front locker.

    The other reasons.

    Rear LSD still works for now. Eventually, I will replace it with a Harrop to go triple locked.

    Installation simplicity. Just wires.

    Pulling through mud or on wet rocks. This is my world.

    I imagine you guys bring like 5 changes of shoes, socks and clothes when you wheel in that regularly

    I got the locker without any of those things in mind that you mentioned, simply got it because;

    4x4 open = 2wd

    4x4 rear locked = 3wd

    4x4 front rear locked = 4wd

    That'd suck...fuck that noise.

    Though I wouldn't mind bringing a set to change in if I'm hitting the snow; been needing to go east.

    Will see if I can hit areas near Kings Canyon when I go to my girl's house this Tue/Wed

    We're getting snow in the northern part of the state. We may get some wintry mix down here.

    I just wish the ground would freeze. Then you can go anywhere.

    @CS_AR

    Have you been hitting any trails? Mud? Rocks?

    Wondering if you have, or if you're just waiting to complete your build before doing anything.

    The bumper work and suspension put everything on hold until after the lift. I plan to do some over the holidays when my kid comes to visit.

    I did some right after I installed the Harrop, wheels, tires, and rebuilt the front end. It was the usual Ouachita Mountain trail mix of smaller rocks, creeks, and mud.

    I need to extend the XFER case and rear diff breather lines before I take on too much water.

    Almost everything around here is old logging trails that get bulldozed every few years.

    For the bit that I did, I didn't even begin to challenge its capabilities. The only thing that will limit me is the size of it getting into tight places
