What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The dash is SUPER easy to pull apart, the switch rings are the only part that is a little tricky, but nothing crazy. Just take your time.

 

You didn’t see any improvement in MPG? I heard you get better MPG. I currently average 13MPG, that’s why I ordered it.

 

Well, thank you for advice, but according to manual H9 is our high beam bulbs. I think what I have now is good enough for me and not too bright for drivers on oncoming
traffic.

 

I ordered these new Prinsu handles from Truck Brigade, I actually really like them and it is nice to have to hoist yourself up to the rack—plus I like that they are also mounts for BD lights... I’ll probably get some wired up once I finish my auxiliary panel project.

 

With a little modification you can fit them to the H11 connector, takes about 2 minutes. As long as your headlights are properly aligned, it will not blind oncoming traffic any worse than the H9’s. It’s a great inexpensive modification to get a noticeable improvement with low beam lighting.

 

Man I needed these ramps today when I installed mine!

What’s the small metal plate on your skid plate where the TRD letter usually go?

Took all of 2 days to unlock my Mall Crawler badge after lifting.

 

Recently added a Christmas Wreath to the front Grille. A little off center but too much work to cut the zip ties and redo it haha

 

It's a cover. I'm having mine painted the same colour as the truck so I wanted that area to remain clean. Will post a pic when installed.

The three wires on your brake light there, are they running/brake/ground? Also, what are your plans for doing hooking it up?

 

Ahhhh, the "dog mod". expensive, but long-lasting and worth it upgrade! Nice. I have yet to unlock that mod, but am happy for you.

Hold on. What did you do to the skid plate? cover the "TRD"? Is that the standard TRD skid Plate? I like it, but why.

 

Yes, standard TRD skid plate. The letters are not installed because I am having them painted the same colour as my truck. Cover is to keep the area clean.

Thank you! I was a little hesitant too since mine isn’t even a year old but like someone else said, it was actually very easy. The trim around the screen and steering wheel both come off very easy. There are just some red clips holding everything in place. When removing them, don’t be afraid to give some pressure. The cup holder came off easier for me when I started at the charging pad rather than the center console like a lot of videos show. I followed taco twonz video and it walks you through everything. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions/problems.

As far as the chrome ring, I was able to remove that easily just make sure you keep everything as you removed it since the 4x4 knob has a few pieces. The push button was the hardest for me since it didn’t want to come out. A little extra effort and I got it though. No issues for me. Everything fits great and I love that I went with black rings/climate controls and a red push button.
