You could do that. @mZiggy did something similar. I’ve been going to adjust mine but haven’t gotten around to it.

i’ve been running with my config for quite a while and haven’t had any issues so haven’t really had a reason to change either.

I did see @mZiggy numbers but he stated they wouldn't taper. And his ECT Numbers start low but then stay at 94 with temp 0-168.
Tacomarin ECT numbers start high but taper off with temp.
So im wondering what would happen with mZiggy PHASE DUTY numbers and Tacomarin ECT numbers.
Since u guys know what affect those Phase Duty numbers have i rather ask.
    Thanks again

Did you see MrZiggys post from 12/10/2020 in VF forum?

Thanks just read it so they would Taper off even on 18s from my reading.
Thought it wouldnt since the ECT values stayed the same. From temp 30-68

My vF post (which is also here in this thread somewhere) is applicable for '16-17. Confirmed tapering. When I had my '18 buddy doing some testing for me, I initially tried copy/pasting the values over just out of curiosity. They tapered, but the highest observed voltage was too low. So that's where I'd start actually.

I did send him over a revised map that boosted the phase duties by the same percentages that my '17 map is altered by, so that the values didn't match but the increases by percentage would. He never tested it however so idk if it was worth it. Main reason I did this was because of duty 1 having that odd 14.xx value.

The post that I was referring to iirc when saying they would not taper is the one with 94's across the board for the temp values. That's Shellshock's method

I'll be glad to test them. :D I'm running your older 17 settings but they are too low for me at 14.3 -14.4V. I have your latest settings made up in a tune, but I would be glad to try the ones you made for your buddy because the Phase Duty 1 14.XX had me wondering. How could they be soo different?

Idk but it's tricky figuring how much to edit by because on the 16-17's, that PD1 value from factory is 60-something lol

I'll add you to a convo with @Ray1989 since he offered to test as well and I just sent some files over.

Edit, I can't add you lol will PM you

Been logging on my drives today. Cigarette outlet voltage reads a couple tenths of a V higher than the voltage on the logger. Weird and opposite of everyone else. But so far it’s holding steady at just over 14.4V (logger V). I bumped all the numbers for ECT 60 and above up 0.5, before that it was just under 14.4V. Haven’t changed anything else. I’ll do longer drives this week and log as well. I’m not convinced we need such big changes to the duty cycles for such small voltage output changes. More testing to come. I may eat my words yet ;)

    John,

Did you change any of the Phase Duties as well?

I’m assuming there is some conversion factor or something going on. I dont modify phase duty 1 on the 16-17 trucks, so it doesn’t really matter that its different as i dont change it anyway.

Was wondering where you based the phase duty off of?
    What was your methodology/formula?

Im currently running these settings on my 17 with a Odyssey battery. As temps start to get colder here is Canada. I am noticing that in the mornings, say after not driving for 2 days the initial startup is a little weaker then normal. I havent measured voltage lately to see what it is outputting, but I do think that I may need to adjust for the colder weather. Im wondering if I should run the adjustments that @mZiggy has been posting on the VF fourm and on here?

I would guess that you need to update your ECT values for 0 and below (65506, 65496 correspond to -30 and -40 *C I believe) to the 94 range.

I live in the desert. You probably need to adjust for the colder temps you get

I just flashed my AGM tweaks... I'm on 04B04, Northstar knockoff X2 Power Group 27F.

Here's the numbers changed, %5 across the board, except I didn't go over 96 for the low temps.

Here's the Logger info after flash...
    upload_2020-12-15_4-11-51.jpg

My cig lighter was displaying 14.5v when I first turned the truck on at idle. The logger was reading ~14.5 min and ~14.6 max. My multimeter was reading 14.65 at the battery terminals. It was 51 deg F or 10.5 deg C. As the truck warmed up, and so did the ambient air temp just slightly (~14.5 C) the cig lighter voltmeter was reading 14.3-14.4 and back to 14.5 when cold again. I'm happy with these numbers for now.

You are getting almost exactly same Volt readings I did tonight with totally different settings. :annoyed: Its pretty obvious you have to get your Volt reading from battery.
