Does air hammers requires a lot CFM? I don't want to get a huge air compressor.

 

The termites didn't get to them yet.

 

It’s all about volume.
I use an air hammer and impact gun and air ratchet at the track with the compressor your buying

These are the ones I was looking at Home Depot.

 

If your not running a sand blaster or da sander or anything that requires constant on performance then you should be ok.

 

Has it been dependable?

 

well it was run over in the service drive.
They threw it out.
I Straighten the compressor tank pipe.
Threw it in the race trailer.
Been using it two years with air tools at the track.
Does what it’s suppose to.
If,you can afford it ,do yourself a favor and get the quiet run one..

 

Is there any issue with impact guns blasting off tight nuts? No comment, Bill.

My friend was doing a timing belt with a 15 gallon compressor. The compressor struggle with removing the harmonic balancer bolt. I had to get his bigger compressor.

 

I bet that was more of line pressure issue than tank size.
I have pulled stuck bolts off with a impact gun with a pancake..
And a balancer bolt is really an unfair test.
Sometimes we can’t get them off with the shop one. Lol

 

I have the 21 gallon Central Pneumatic oil lubricated from Harbor Freight. Thing is a beast. Work well for an impact and I even use it with my HVLP spray gun. Mostly use it to blow the grass off the mowers. Hasn't let me down yet.
