Just finished map light on with overhead lamp mod, cheap day time running lamps mod, and fog lamps on anytime mod.. Tomorrow i will do the cigerette lighter on all the time mod. Ran out of steem.

Just proud of myself for finishing it all up. I suck at electrical, so pretty jazzed. If i could suggest anything, someone should edit the map light mod to explain exactly how the top portion comes off. of course i figured it out, but someone who doesn't have toooooo much experience with taring apart a perfectly good truck might appreciate it. ....then again they shouldn't be taring it apart either huh..? Eh.

One question for you savvy tacoma people - I dont have the overhead temp gauge, but when taring it all apart i noticed the wiring is all there... is this something i could just get a unit and plug it in?? Seems like it.. lemme know.

    thanks!

okay thanks for the replys! Here's my shitty writeup how to take the map light thing down.

First, open the sunglass holder. There's one black Phillips head screw in there (i lost it.. so i replaced it with whatever i had around.) This is your only screw in the whole thing.

Second, towards your compass (or garage door opener thing) you will have to grab the whole unit at both corners and pull straight down from the headliner. Its held on with those press fasteners.. i know there's a better word for it, but they snap in place without screws or anything. ease it from one side, then the other.. it'll come loose without tools.

Third, when the front is loose, the back has a L shaped hooks keeping it in place. You'll be able to just pull the whole unit towards the windshield and it will hang by the two plugs. Unsnap the plugs and the whole unit will be in your hands. You can take it inside and do your soldering at that point.. Then follow the instructions in the free mods section and you're set! If i can do it, anyone can do it!

Now, about the dome light, it comes off very easily. Three snap connector things. Just get your fingers in there and pull evenly on all 4 corners. It'll make sense really fast.

    Anyway, picture time!!

Heres with the door open! It really does dim just like the dome light. I love it:

And my mod with the fogs on anytime!!

They turn off with the key.. so i'll use them as day time running lamps. Awesome. =)
