For me I needed a bed since my original broke. This was the best bang for the buck at the time....

It depends on where you live and exactly what you do, the open tray concept for me is exactly what I want. Dual spare tires up there omg

By pod, I presume you're referring to the following..? If so, this is one of the options we will also be producing.

that’s my next step but the cap on the back.

Is it going to be all aluminum or steel frame and aluminum covered? I have had some issues with my current aluminum cap cracking. Debating to go steel main frame (1/16th square tubing should be just as strong and not much heavier then say 3/16-1/4 aluminum square tubing). The corrosion part sucks though.

    still figuring it out.

Ours will be all aluminum. We hate corrosion as much as you and next person! Maintaining light weight, strength and the ability to endure harsh Canadian conditions!

We will have 3 types of canopies available; 3ft (or half canopy for the short tray), compact, which leaves about a foot of open deck space at the rear (better for heavier tires, such as 35's and up), and full length, like you've mentioned here. The internals will be completely modular as well.

There will be plenty of updates happening over the next few months, so by all means ask any questions, or let us know what type of features you're after.

Additionally, I will note; canopies are 100% removable, and do not have to be permanently installed, leaving you the ability to use the tray during the work week for projects around the house, for example.

We are open to the idea of powder coating, but most likely would be the case of having our customers do this locally, only to lessen the chances of scratches from shipping and the likes. Not to mention, price. As it can affect the overall cost then too. And if someone really wanted to go big, they could always Line-X it too!

The video tells me tiny tires don't work well in soft sand. Compare this to Matt's Off-Road Recovery's XJ with 37s on stock motor.

Found this picture on another thread. Wow I did not think a flatbed on a Tacoma would generate this more space...

Oh definitely! I gained a foot in length alone. I now have 36sqft of usable space! The fact I can now load an ATV with ease is one of the great features of going this route!

link to that thread? I'm curious if someone put in a tray for a 5ft bed with a comparison photo.

any photos of the ATV on the tray? I've seen them on full sized rigs, but not a mid-size truck like the Tacoma.
i assume you use the regular ramps or some 2x10 planks?

None as of right now, but will be posting those with the production model tray as soon as it’s ready.

To put into reference though, I can fit the entire 5ft box on the tray.
