Those shark bite fittings work great if you want to DIY. I’ve got a crimp tool you can borrow if your want to use crimp rings.

 

Thanks man, none of the sharkbite fittings worked, ended up getting a brass union and crimped it. $200 in pex crimping tools later I'm setup for when the next one springs a pin hole leak!

What color pex was it?

 

The hole was on the top after that 90. So that fat red pex stuff.

 

It's all good, I'm setup now if it happens again. It was an excuse to buy some new tools anyway!

 

That's a lot of connections there. Just making sure it wasn't the original grey stuff. That's where PEX really got it's bad rap from. If done correctly, like with any plumbing really, it's far superior.

 

I’ve had several leaks at pex joints. Cut out old and replace with sharkbite...simple and quick

 

The oldest it could possibly be is 15yrs old.

Yea, it popped right between the joints. Lucky it didn't burst inside a wall.
