Do you have any dogs currently?

 

No. I seen German Shepherd pups last week, about a 15 minute drive from us. The wife went and seen them as that's one of her favorites. She ultimately passed on it. I think she really was hurt / sad about the last 2 we had and not wanting to say goodbye again.

 

Sounds like she's not quite over it yet which is understandable. Dogs are like a family member that you're pretty much guaranteed to out live. Hope she can get passed it soon and you guys are back to being dog owners

 

Not telling anyone how to feed their animals but if you want to all but eliminate huge piles of dog shit in your yard dump the kibble and feed your dog a raw diet. Specifically a meat diet. Dogs are carnivores after all and cooked, processed, nutrient deficient kibble passes through mostly undigested and out onto your lawn no smaller than when it went in. A total waste of money if you ask me.

You'll also notice your dog drinking almost no water as they get their hydration from the meat. If anything they will most certainly be happier and healthier for it. Your vet may not like the lack of business because your dog is healthy and trouble free but who cares.

Anyway don't take my word for it, a little research in the right places and you'll find all the info you need on the benefits of a raw meat diet for you dogs and cats.

 

Well the first one to go we spent near 3k for different bowel problems and something or other. I see your point, makes sense. Probably why my mothers dogs live so long, when they got very up there in age she fed them meat and vegetables

Tonight's dinner is beef heart and chicken. I always include the bones and skin and innards. The big dogs get their perspective bowls and the littles eat straight from the board

 

I'm not a fan of min pins they tend to be yappy little bitch dogs. If you love Labs go look at a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Those little dogs are bad ass.
No fear and very smart and very fun to have. Big dog in a small dog body. I'm a Lab guy and adopted a Corgi that had no desire to be a show ring dog.
His name was Beau and he was really cool. And he fit right in with my Labs.

 

I owned a Chessie way back when my wife and I first married. Great breed, wrong time for us at that time... will own one again post hence, with a lab of course as well!

Understood. Saying goodbye kills us all, giving love to them for the years they have on this earth is greater than that...

 

The breeder I'm getting my pup from feeds all his dogs on a raw meat only. No kibble. And hes been breeding german shepherd for the last 25 years.

I cant wait till I can bring mine home. Counting down the days. Me and my sisters are currently looking for a boxer for my mother. Cuz she got super attached to my boy I had to put down.

Sound like a wise breeder. Most people can't wrap their head around feeding their animals a raw diet but if you want your dog to live a long happy life start by feeding it the correct diet. My labs are a testament to the health benefits of eating a raw diet.

My female chocolate just turned 13 and couldn't be healthier and my yellow is 16 years old and at his latest check-up the vet said he has the blood work of a two year old. Not to mention their teeth are shiny and clean, they are both allergy free and take zero meds.
