I'm not going to post in that thread as I dislike the national part of the forums anymore.

Likely one of your incline/decline smoke events filled a cylinder and put a slight bend in a rod. Micro cracked formed and let go at a later time. Similar to my many ring and pinion failures, slight "tink/ping" noise wheeling to only fail weeks/months later taking off from a stop light.

Eliminating the electronic controls is possible. I'm almost at the point of doing it to my 4runner because the electronic booster age. I'll likely be limited to an FJ80 booster/master assembly with some custom parts. The Electronic booster hole in the firewall does match vacuum boosters.

@bot102 If you're getting an oil warning reposition as soon as possible, that is bad times. I'll get it on occasion in the 4runner, just be quick to recognize and move to get it to go away.

The wife is coming off the last of the Lymphoma treatments and the lung issues were blown out of proportion by an overzealous diagnosis. So the road to recovery is long and with the rona is forces greater social distancing than normal folks have to follow. Kinda nice and a downer at the same time. Have about 6 months of immune system worries left. Thankful is the seasonal theme this year.

That is a tough spot to be in. Glad to hear it is not as bad as expected, though. Hopefully the road to recovery is straightforward and easygoing.

If there is anything I can help y'all with please let me know. I would love to

I didn't kill it. I did a little reading and responded over here. The internet hero mentality discourages my activity on the national forum.

At least here locally we can all come together over a beer and discus our internet scrolling finger injuries in person.

Well now I'm scared. I've probably gotten it 2-3 times at least. 1 of those was the stall. Should I be looking at the catch can?
