Yep, like I said. They’re asking an arm and a leg. You could spend $30k and get decent T4R or low mile ‘15 2nd gen TRD.

I was considering buying another 1st gen with the lowest miles possible and swap all my parts and then sell mine with all the oem parts on them. There was a silver ‘03 in Kentucky with 21k on the clock and the place wanted $20k but it was absolute show room condition. Still too much money for me to justify but it just goes to show you how great and dependable these little trucks are...

Thats true. I was considering selling my 19 and going back to a 1st gen. This truck fits the bill to the T. But the price is wayyy to rich for my blood.

Asking on Toyotas right now are stupid. Problem with this is that some one will still pay over book. issue is that insurance will only consider book value and will screw you on comps.

26 is kinda high, but it is only 44k miles. I think more crazy are the people asking $15,000 for a 1st gen with 250k miles on it here on TW.

I paid $16,900 for mine. It was showroom condition with 92k. I had looked for a good solid year for a Blk, ext cab 01-04, manual with 4WD under 100k. Way more than I wanted to spend but it was 20 min. from my house. Six years and 100k later trucks been good to me.

If you haven’t already I’d look on all the websites out there, cars.com, autotrader, usedcras.com, bringatrailer.com, etc etc and you’ll find one pop up every now and again with 25k-50k for around $17.5k... ish

I’m not sure about perfect condition. It looks to me like that frame has been painted.

Book value doesn't mean anything when you get into vehicles like this.....or at least as this one appears to be.

Values are determined by averages. There's nothing average about this vehicle....so there's little, if anything, to compare it too. Just as you would expect a basket case to be worth well below what the "book" says....it works the opposite way as well. You can't expect an extremely above average vehicle to be worth what the "book" says.

Besides.....once you get into that 15+ year range, printed values begin to mean less and less. At 18 years old, few bank are going to offer a loan on.....or at least a loan that has a reasonable term.

So throw the "book" value out the window. It's worth what the highest bidder will give for it.

Like Jane said, it could go to the highest bidder... Keep in mind if the vehicle is damaged, insurance will only consider book value unless you insured upon an agreed upon value.

Yeah that is a little steep. I sold my 04 DCSB for $13k with 135k on the clock. I couldnt imagine paying more for over 100k more miles on one
