I haven’t cooked a brisket in a few years either, when I was at granzin's meat market last week, I really wanted to get a brisket from there, they look very nice and priced reasonably given the current beef prices.

Reasonable is good! At some of the prices this year, I'm certainly not going to "try my skill" on a full piece! I tried a couple trimmed down ones on the Weber in the past, but they really don't have "enough fat" to do a nice cook, and it really condensed the time.
So now, cook out on the Charbroil gas, and smoke in the smoker (haven't wrecked anything yet!)

That is a cistern sitting behind the weeds, it was converted as a storage room, a door was cut into it and it has built in shelves, it’s probably 7’ tall.
It’s at the property that I’m in process of buying, that might make a good smoke house, weld it or mount a hub to the floor, build racks onto of the hub for large rotating shelves, add a couple 6” pipe inlets for smoke. I didn’t take any pictures of inside for some reason.

Evening everyone else! Boy Howdy, the wind is HOWLING up here - 25 mph most of the time, so hard to call it gusts. Temps are dropping so I think I will get a chance to see how the shed heater responds. I have it well above freezing.... :fingerscrossed:

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

:santa::santa: Good Morning SA! CHILLY, eh?!

Well, I woke to find my little shed pump heater contraption worked, and it didn't work. Waiting for Mr. Sun to come out and prove me correct. Temp was matching outdoors, so I checked and found the load side of 12V all gone! :annoyed: Apparently, it worked enough to completely drain the 2 batteries overnight! So, if the temp is still below 45* when I get some solar charging, that will prove out. I have lots of little space heaters and cords though.....

Happy First Saturday everyone! Enjoy your week.

Yep, suppose we'll be setting ours on this week. Have to go touch the manual switch though, since the programming is now on the keypad of the motor assembly. Hmmm....now I see the usefulness of the Bluetooth version.

I wonder if the bluetooth would work from that distance and from inside the house...

I don't think Bluetooth would make that distance, but your WiFi probably would. You can get lots of options for that. You have a 120V contactor/relay that turns the pump on?

:hungry:. Yep. Fortunately, we are in a part of Texas where you are within minutes of being able to purchase good stuff!
Going to make sure to get me a metal ash pail today while I'm at Lowe's, before the Christmas turkey!

I use a galvanized bucket for the fireplace ashes, not sure where I picked it up from.
