What was the average time for you all to get your diamondbacks after you ordered?

Just looked back at my emails, I ordered mine back in the first week of Oct. It arrived 7 weeks (47 days) from the day I placed the order.

I paid the extra for the fast track shipping and got it in 5 days. In my opinion it was worth 300 to not have to wait 7-8 weeks but that's just me.

Where is that option on the website? I’m only getting 4-5 days shipping plus build time.

Not sure, when I ordered/checked out I didn't see the option but had seen others mention it in threads related to the diamondback cover. For me the wait time may have been increased since I checked the box for freight delivery with lift. I did so because I was having it delivered to my parents and I wasn't going to be there on delivery day. I then took a trip up to their place for the install in their driveway since my current situation isn't ideal for wrenching on the truck

Every Friday at 530pm EST they offer it on the website. It's worth it in my opinion, but like I said I needed mine ASAP.

As opposed to direct mounted, What is the advantage of installing tracks for the crossbar mounts? Is there a major difference than a direct mount? I mean the tracks do look nice, are they just t slots?

If you are talking about a system like the FrontRunner Load Bars, it would just be for adjustability. It would take me about 10 minutes with an allen wrench to reposition the position on the tracks. I might also have to use a socket wrench since the diamondback and truck bed isn't perfectly square. It's more of a trapezoid. So the distance between the uprights is different at the front of the bed versus the rear.

I might run a RTT, which was my intent for these. I also installed a fridge and soon a solar generator in the bed itself, so I needed a better platform up top for things like plywood. I've also considered putting my plano or similar cases between or under the bars during extended travel.

For the most part, it's unlikely that I'll move them now that they are in place.

    UPDATE:

Promised everyone that I would update on the issues with my SE smooth cover when it was resolved. Diamondback stepped up and replaced it after a few weeks and upgraded it to an HD. Only issue, they sent an HD that has damage. It’s clear to me that @DiamondBack Covers has no quality control in place or they are so busy that quality is going down. Not sure what is going to happen now, but the finish on the HD I was sent is horrible. It’s over coated on 2 sides and lacking coating on the rear edge.

Waiting for an email response. I know everyone rants and raves about customer service and timeliness, but maybe I’m just the exception. Communication has been horrible for spending $1,700 on a cover. The return shipping process was also a hassle. Took 3 attempts at a pickup to send the old one back. Days wasted.

I like the look of the tracks. Makes me think twice about my mounting decision.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did they do for you? I’m sick of getting covers freighted (sit around all day to sign for it) and then spend days sitting around waiting for them to pick up the old one. I see raving customer service reviews... I just don’t see it myself...

They offered to replace with a new one but i figured it would be a pain in the butt to return and then reinstall. They gave me a $100 credit and said they were going to send a paint repair kit. This was 3 weeks ago and still have not seen the kit.
you can see tiny gaps, I had about 14 of these along the name

Does anyone regret getting their Diamondback in terms of not having full bed access without removing the entire cover? I’m seriously considering a diamondback but I’m weary of the number of times I’m going to have to take the cover off and the headache that comes with it.

I do worry about that.. then consider if I have to I’ll just haul on top (I got the HD). And if it’s so big I can’t reasonably do that I tell myself ok just get it delivered or rent a uhaul.

Yeah I’ve thrown stuff on the cover and strapped it down more that I thought I would. I actually prefer it because I can still grab stuff out of my bed.
