On the VTrans website you can find town by town maps that include class-4 roads, legal trails, and other unmaintained ROWs. A lot of those are also visible in different GaiaGPS maps as well if you happen to have the paid version. I'm in a couple of FaceBook groups as well that could be worth checking out; Southern Vermont Offroad Association, and 802 Off-Road Crew

Oh hey! We met at Sucker Pond!

Thanks for the recommendations, NY/CT doesn't have class 4 roads and whatnot so I didn't even think to look at those. I'll also check out FB!

Do you know anything about Green Mountain National Forest? It seems to mainly be dirt roads, we'll be alone so as much as I want to, I can't get into anything too gnarly

Just be advised that some of the forest roads in Southern areas are closed to vehicles in the Winter and are part of the VAST trail system for sleds.

I don't know what's open over the winter, but the roads through GMNF are well maintained, nice and easy, fun scenic cruising from what I've seen.

dammit I’d put a lot of effort and $ in keeping it up.
Took til 12/11 to get the it’s done answer.
Watched trucks I’d get disappear while waiting. I got this I’d been watching 3 hrs later.

I’ve stripped a bunch off my old truck.
and have spare parts that don’t fit this one.
had new snows and nice stock rims with sensors for inspection but I had to leave wheels on it.

yea I’m good wasn’t even sore after.
Did find a black and blue on the inside of my right ankle. Must have hit the side of the brake pedal.
Dude ran a red going right on red.
He came from behind traffic sitting at light to go left.

Anything getting put together soon in VT, or would even be down to set up a small outing? Hoping to do my first snow wheeling!

Installed a 12volt solutions remote starter last Friday.
    All plugs no splicing.
    Real solid product!!
    Everything works as it should.
And it’s a 2 way granted they don’t install but I know what was done and it shouldn’t burn down.
Range is good my work has me in a metal room in a metal bldg and it works.
Most with factory starters (key fob) have to go to the windows in the main bldg.
    hope everyone is doing well.
    Gonna be a cold weekend!!
    Be safe.

Finally got an account after reading on here forever. Just bought my 3rd Taco and looking for someone to do some wheeling with. I’m in the Montpelier area and know a handful of good trails around here..just always find myself turning around when it’s getting good because I’m alone..looking to get out this spring ASAP. Nothing too fancy on the truck yet, will have 33’s and a 2” lift by spring.

Hey neighbor! I'm just up the road in Cabot. I'd be happy to join you once things warm up and I've got my summer wheels back on.

I know this is a long shot, does anyone know a side by side guy named Chad? Maybe 40s, little heavy set, I think he's a Vermont native.

He really saved my ass, along with a few others, this past weekend at Sucker Pond

    You bet.
@.Q. is also nearby, and both he and I are recent transplants to the area. He's still stock, so if there's some easier stuff around that he can enjoy too, I bet he'd be interested.

I know of some places that would suit stock rigs around here. Mainly class 4 road network. Once anything nearby melts enough to pass I’ll try to round a few of you up on this VT thread.

    cheers
