Likely. I fly well enough to get it off the ground and back on the ground.

Taking off is the hard part, everyone lands.

Nah, taking off is the easy part. How does the saying go? “Takeoff is optional, landing is mandatory.” Something like that.

I've heard that before. Taking off though at least requires some skill to start up and taxi out, everyone lands eventually no matter if there's skill or not.

I’m not a pilot, but I work in Simulation.

We’ve just received another new 767 full flight simulator from the manufacturer and are going through the certification process with the FAA...

Due to COVID-19, the FAA does not do certification evals’s on site, so I had to figure out how to capture all of the video streams available and present them to the FAA in Microsoft Teams.

I was pretty pleased with the final product and we got the sim certified two days early!

The left GGU (PFD / Nav Display)
Out the window visuals with HUD overlay
Overhead video from the glare shield to the throttle quadrant

I'm sure you ran into some leaders in the Marines that were assbites, however if you knew they were awarded Silver Stars for Heroism, and least in my opinion, I'd respect them highly. I disliked many leaders for their character, like John McCain, but I respected their military accomplishments. I really don't care much about Yeager's aerial accomplishments though they were monumental, but I do admire, and respect his heroic actions during the war.

I used to play a game called Air Attack, the precursor to Fighter Ace. I had an online friend called Zim. Any chance it was you?

Correct, I was focused on the Silver Star during WWII, one for the ACE deal and the other for the XS-1 flight. Also flew in Vietnam but he was a test pilot during Korea I think.

Anybody have Piston Commander experience (A/B/Shrike)? I've been flirting with the idea of picking one up... looking for dispatch rate info and mx horror stories. My planes fly about 80-100 hours a month or so.

No piston version experience but if it’s anything like it’s bigger brothers, it a great plane. Have about 1600hrs in a 900 series.
