Has anyone had success calling Toyota Corporate about dealership issues? Today is the 30th day since I traded in my truck to Ray Brandt Toyota in Kenner, Louisiana. They still haven't paid off my trade in and keep giving me the run around. Not to mention, I have 2 bad rims on a brand new 2021. My old truck is on their lot for sale. I am about to ask for it back. Been on hold for 20 minutes with Toyota Corporate.

Yep, enough that the dealer manager reached out to me and fixed the issue, was pretty pissed I didn't reach out to them first before Toyota, but I definitely did, their people just chose to not address the issue appropriately.

My son ended up sending them a letter detailing the problems he had with a dealer in AL. Corporate authorized and paid for him to have the problems fixed at a different dealer. He did follow up with phone calls as well.

If you want to send a letter the address is,

    Toyota Customer Experience Center
    PO Box 259001
    Plano, TX 75025-9001

I just got a recall notice for the fuel pump issue and that's the address they give.

The phone number they give is 1-800-331-4331. I don't know if that's the number you have.

It's very simple why the dealership hasn't paid off the loan on your truck. It hasn't sold yet.

Its more common than you would think, but the idea is they will sell your trade-in to someone and use the money from the sale to pay off the loan.
They will deny it, but it's common

Hopefully you can get this resolved! Can you speak about the 'Bad' rims? Warped or damaged on lot?

My dad has always paid off the loan in the vehicle being traded in if it wasn’t already paid off...

Best way to do this. AND, it gives you the opportunity to sell it privately which can be kinder to your wallet.

However, why the heck are you trading in a vehicle that's not yet paid for? If you financed for longer than 36-48 months, this is the situation that you put yourself in.

I doubt Toyota will call them. I told him off. He said it was a sales issue and they can't force anything.

If I had 42k to pay off my F250, I would have kept it.

The problem with Toyota USA corporate is that COVID has the execs and staff working remotely. It can takes a few weeks before a letter arrives on the right desk AND/OR getting thru on the phone can take forever. Best to do both so you can mention in the letter that you're confirming a phone conversation (assuming you get thru to someone who matters). While old-fashioned, snail mail still has more influence.

Then perhaps it would have been wiser to keep it until it WAS paid off. It's not like it'll be an easy sell for your dealer AND if they're doing what desmodue said, good luck fighting that battle.

Weird similar scenario for me, traded in my loaded lifted 19 sport, didn't like new OR (buyer's remorse), asked for my trade back the next morning, was told they couldn't do it only sell back to me as a certified preowned and the deal was already accepted by TFS, emailed and called Toyota Monday morning, Friday afternoon dealer GM called me and offered me my trade back, not sure your scenario or how you went about it, but I've found Toyota Corporate to be stellar in customer service. Came back from a deployment with a battery dead on my 2017, ended up replacing myself as dealer couldn't get me in, Toyota asked for receipt and paid me back with a mailed check. My 16 had 2 rear diffs replaced, Toyota corporate gave me a 8yr/125k platinum warranty for my hassle.

I would suggest you send a registered letter outlining in factual detail the issue(s) to the Owner and the GM. Just the facts and not be emotional or threatening and end your letter with what you expect the resolution to be and by what date. CC that letter to Toyota Customer Experience (already posted above) and send that cc registered as well.

If no response by your expected date contact your local BBB. You might want to check on-line as the BBB will post "Dealer complaints" and resolutions on on-going complaint(s).

If you still do not have satisfaction...might be time for an attorney.

    Just my $0.02

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Like most people in this COVID era, I took a significant pay cut. Trust me, if I was able to keep my F250, I would have. The Tacoma is nice, but nothing compared to a turbo diesel F250.

My suggestion is to start by filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against the dealership.
Next go online and contact your congressman
and file a complaint with them.
Both of these steps are simple and can be done online.
After doing these steps send Toyota an email
Telling them this is the start of actions you are taking to remedy the situation. Tell them your next step will be to contact a lawyer.

If you send a registered letter, also send a non registered copy to the same address. That's what an attorney advised me to do several years ago. That way, even if they reject the sign for letter, they will get the regular one.

People hate getting registered letters and sometimes will refuse them.
