What do you mean by "sub models"?

When I made a choice for a 1/2" pneumatic impact I went by how balance the gun feels in my hand. Some impact have a longer nose that made it feel awkward in my hand and unbalance. I didn't want the snub nose impact either. The only tool truck was allowed at that dealership at that time was Snap On. So the next time the tool truck was there I tried out over a dozen impact gun until I found the right one.

How's the 3/8 impact gun at removing lug nuts?

Here's some pics of that flap. It goes down about 1/2" beyond the top of my tailgate cap (you can see the line). It's snug against the tailgate cap, so it keeps most rain & dust out. If you point a hose right at it on jet mode, it will flex enough to allow water in. Still well worth it.

That would probably be fine. I don't require absolute water tightness. It's still a truck after all. Incidental moisture isn't an issue. I really have come to appreciate my tonneau and thinking for years I'd never want one, but the occasional inconvenience of not being able to carry larger stuff in our shallow beds had me looking around. Lately this brand has been mentioned a lot, and when I saw what they cost new, well....hard to discount.

    Thanks for the pics!

Any chance you an angle shot of the tailgate with it closed up? Kinda like this?

For the home owner, and even in many industrial situations, these things are a total game changer. In a commercial situation where use is sporadic, and there's a compressor on 24/7, I don't know you find that much of an improvement unless the air line causes you problems.

I've done too much review comparing brands and Milwaukee consistently owns or shares top billing.

In the Milwaukee line for example, you can buy the exact same housing, but the units internals yield different RPM or torque specs, let alone the 15 others in the line that are almost the same. Its insane the variety within a brand.

I use a Milwaukee 3/8's at home, same model we use a dozen of at work. In the plant they are literally running 45 min of every hour, 50 hr a week, and they just don't fail. Not the latest or greatest, but still awesome for 95% of homeowner needs. No way it'll handle lug nuts, either breaking them free or getting them close to spec, but they do all the spinning, which again, at home, is fine. I finish my truck related stuff with a torque wrench, and start the heavy stuff with a breaker bar. That 1/2" may be the next evolutionary step for me, but the need is pretty limited.

    What?

I haven’t called Toyota yet but are you saying the whole console has to be replaced?

    BTW
This thread has went 12 freaking pages since I posted that 18 hours ago. WTF!?

Edit: Just called Toyota, and yes they do sell that latch separately from the console, about $40. You must have been confused of what I was asking.

Not the whole console just a top lid.Unless they changed it but I put a lid on 3 months ago because of the latch being broken.

Had to scratch that itch today. Picked up that heavy duty garage shelving today. Got all the big/heavy tools up from the basement and into the garage. My back will be happier not having to haul them up and down the basement stairs. Did a little re-organizing in the basement too.

Oh sorry, I thought you said you replaced the console door on yours. I was just wondering how lucky I was just having to buy a just a latch. Thanks for your input though and going in to check.
