$12k, never been in shop = major parts all have 162k miles on them.

every 10k miles -or- year old = -1k value

    37k - 10k (years) - 16k (miles) + 1k (topper)

=12k ...dont believe me ask dealer. this being generous with estimates. he probably paid closer to 30k for it new ten years ago.

ripoff dont pay for the guys ego. dont shoot the messenger.

Nice truck but overpriced. 160,000+ miles, plan to spend some $$$ repairing and replacing parts as they fail due to age, mileage and wear and tear.

No frame pics, not interested. If there is one thing TW has taught me is it isn't the body pics that are important, it's the frame pic or, the lack of them.

Thanks for the replies thus far. Toyota's are generally selling for a lot more in this region than others so I'm not surprised by the listing price, though happy to hear all of these responses because I'm not inclined to overspend on a vehicle in general. Sounds like somewhere in the 12-14 range is more reasonable?

Agree with others- frame is critical. Also if no other maintenance has been done you’re looking at some point in your ownership of the truck having to do brakes, wheel bearings, ujoints and carrier bearing, coolant and brake fluid flush, diff fluid change, serp belt and pulleys, etc etc. All the smaller items that are key preventative maintenance or wear items

I would ask but not assume if the above maintenance has already been done at least once. But main concern would be the frame as others have said. I crawled under mine before purchase and it only had 85,000 on it. Rust on hitch and around the spare tire which I will take care of this spring, otherwise ok. I paid $26,400 for my 2015 V6, auto, 4WD with 85k a week ago, always oil/filter changes at 5k and the rest done all by the dealer.

    Like, so many.
Surely some of those have been done as routine maintenance.

    Take his word for it
Take a peek on one knee
Take it to a knowledgeable mechanic with a lift.
I’d go with the last one. Lot of nice looking trucks appear on here with a not so knowledgeable new owner having bought a truck with a questionable frame. Most just out of any sort of frame warranty.
    Good luck with your search.

All. Thanks for the input. I'll take all this into consideration when I look later. It's amazing how much they're going for in the Rocky Mountain West. There's only 4 second gens on Craigslist + 13 surrounding areas under $20k. I've been looking for awhile and they sell very fast. Might have to just stick with the trusty Corolla for a bit longer...cant seem to get away. It's always more fun rolling up to the trailhead like this anyway:

craigslist is where people dump garbage, especially cars. less info is always suspicious. no protection its the wild wild west. you are better off going to a dealer and lowballing, they at least have an incentive to move inventory and arent emotionally attached to the car. plus you get some sort of warranty. if you had POS the first place you would try to sell it is CL no doubt.

Offer $10k if there is no rust on the frame.

Craigslist is sometimes the only game in town. I have seen crap listed on Facebook market place just as much. Its buyer beware where ever your at. I was buying and selling online way before Al Gore invented the internet.

Look over his service records and then see if the frame has been replaced or repair of the rust has been done... make an offer based on that. All Toyota's around here are selling for way over market value, if they are any good.

The lower ball joints will probably be toast, steering rack may be on the way out, trans fluid change, shocks are probably due for a refresh, rear leafs are probably flat, etc.
