well, there are a shit ton of rabbits out here and i have nothing better to do on the weekends besides shoot. so i got bored one day and went shooting with my friend in the middle of the desert. well, as were driving through, we see like 7 rabbits all over the place. so we decided to try our luck shooting them. in new mexico, they are considered non-game and no liscense is required to hunt them as long as you are a new mexico resident so no worries there.

looks like fun. next time bring a .22 and eat the rabbit after killing it. I think the only reason some people would get upset is cause the rabbit is blown to smithereans. however the hell you spell it. i on the other hand dont care.

    be safe.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of wasteful hunting. Eat what you shoot or else hunters are given a bad name.

i have eaten them before and they taste good, but that was last winter when it was snowing and the cold killed all the bugs and ticks they have. its been pretty warm this winter and i am a little skeptical about eating them

Jacks aren't really edible, and that looks like a Jack instead of a Cottontail. Used to hunt them myself. Still would, if I didn't have to drive so far out of town to get 'em.

i have had braised jack rabbit hind legs..i was halfway thru shoveling the stew like goodness into my face when the old guy told me.

i love rabbit hunting. i use a bow. this year at deer camp, i'm upping the odds with a good pellet rifle.

Holy crap you destroyed that rabbit! Nice. Haha. Even if you didn't eat it, there's somethin out there that'll eat it, so I dont' consider it a wasted kill. Nice arsenal though!

Nice! I just bought an AR-15 and am practicing shooting a lot so that I can become deadly on the coyotes.

We used to have permission to hunt one of the local apple orchards around here. We went out on 4wheelers and in trucks for about 3 or 4 hours. The most we killed was like 124 rabbits in one night. There were 6 of us huntin. It was a ton of fun. We gave all the ones that were still edible to people that wanted em. The others we took home and fed to the dogs.
