Sort of. Budbuilt has never actually done the R&D to make the skids and have yet to make any to date. When I emailed them last week, they said that "if" there was enough interest, it would be at least 6 months before they would even START the R&D process. I'd say that if you were able to get them to commit to building them, you're looking at a year or two before they would even become available to the public.

Either way I’m not interested in paying that much or waiting that long.

I got a RCI aluminum kdss skid for my non-kdss GX. They are pretty nice.

i don’t have KDSS but wanted the extra space there for easier oil filter access.

might be what I go with eventually. Got a ways to go before I need skids or sliders really.

In researching this, I only ran across 1 person on IH8MUD that mentioned it also worked as a bumpstop in certain circumstances. Every thing else I've read said to use Moog K160061 spring insulators. If you really want to go cheap, use the Moog uppers, Energy Suspension lowers and hockey pucks as locators. Drill holes in the pucks and bolt down. Total about $60.

Yeah, that’s a bunch of BS. Custom nature as in move around supports :rofl:they are rock sliders, it’s not rocket science.

aka we don’t want to do it. No harm. I’ll find another solution. Was trying to support local but I’m also not a sucker.

I am very happy with my Metaltech4x4 sliders on my 100 series. They make them for GX and work with KDSS.

    the mounting seems...weak

the only other ones I like are White Knuckle but they still use ubolts around the frame which doesn’t seem like it would be near as strong as bolting directly to the frame. :notsure:

not an engineer and didn’t stay at a holiday inn last night.

I agree, a full plate bolted to the frame is more stout. I don't rock climb and bash my truck that much. I got them for that one time I might need them. I'm 230 lbs and use them as a step. Haven't budged. They are heavy.

Yep, no harm done. I will just spend my money elsewhere when it comes time to buy skids.

Sold my 18 Taco this year.
With the equity I purchased the LX470.
I'm SO happy with both my GX and LX.
GX is much faster. LX is a tank.
