I don't recall if Headlight Services does. I know Powerbulbs does.

Are the Phillips Racing Vision + 200’s ok to use with the factory wiring?

Yes. While they pull more current than stock, they are still designed to be a stock replacement bulb. They are perfectly safe on factory wiring, though like all halogens still benefit from the HD wiring harness.

Thank you. Sorry for the simple question but is this harness a plug and play, interceptor type harness? I read the op a couple of times but electrics are not my strong suit.

Would I need to determine the type of ground system I have, then order the appropriate harness and bulbs of my choice? I also noticed DRL’s were mentioned a couple of times, my ‘12 has the mandatory amber DRL’s I can’t turn off, does that change anything? Thanks again.

Plug & play. It's a pretty simple mod. It also includes instructions....

Is there a big enough variation with the grounding system I need to test first or is there a range of years it’s one or the other? Sounds like an odd thing to be randomly switched.

You'll have to determine if your year is ground switched or power switched. My 2012 is power switched (conventional). I believe the instructions for doing this is in post #1.....

Thanks. I didn’t know of all 2012’s, for example, would be power switched. I’ll have to buy a voltmeter and give it a try.

Your 12 Tacoma should be power switched. The amber DRLs are a non-issue, it is only when the headlights are used as DRLs (where you cannot turn the headlights off there) that it becomes a problem.

Note to be legally compliant your Christmas lights must be white or yellow. ;)

Lol! Just some lighting humor. But every year it seems one person on TW gets stopped for colored Christmas lights, I’d say your chances are pretty low, but never zero. :)

Does this upgrade have any negative effect on the headlight lenses themselves? I just dropped $500 for OEM housings and don't want to "burn" them out.

I ran it for 5.5 years on my 2nd Gen without any issues. It won’t be a problem. The biggest detriment to headlights is UV radiation from the sun. The factory headlights have a UV stabilized coating, but it does wear down over time. Using an applied protective UV coating will help maximize lens life. You might want to consider it for areas with high UV. If interested in that, I’d look for an applied maintenance coating and avoid any stick on films type products which can do more harm than good.

I'm wondering if staying on the reserved side and upgrading the harness but not going to the highest voltage bulbs possible.
