The amber turn signals alone are worth it, and the reverse lights are yugely brightful now

@Mrs2Fang commented that you can actually tell a huge difference, as you said with the "reorganized" lighting.
High mount on DP is completely obscured by the bed rack so it was a good "safety" purchase here.

My '89 XJ had just over 300k when we parted ways. That engine still had maybe 150k left in it and only dripped oil, never burned a drop.

@Calamity_taco The 4.0 I6 is basically a high revving tractor engine, so it's perfect for a Jeep like a trail XJ that you need to be bulletproof and last 300K miles.

I've had two different Jeeps with high output 4.0L... Not going to lie, that has to be in my top three favorite engines ever made by mankind

I'm pretty sure they stopped making them only because nobody ever came back to buy another one or have them serviced. Design something so good it isn't profitable to sell it. The American dream.

Plenty of idiots out there who never change the oil in them and would go far too long while they still ran.

The real reason they quit making them... Chrysler. Seriously, f that entire company

It's a long stroke, torque-oriented engine based on a design introduced in the 60s. The official reason was inability to get it to meet new fuel economy and emissions standards.

I miss straight sixes in general. Knew someone in school with a mid-80s F250, built up turbo/carbed Ford 300. Not sure what its outputs were, but it would pull.

It honestly amazes me that they abandoned the design right before they started putting turbos on everything new, but I doubt they really gave it much thought as to how to make it more efficient before they scrapped it.

The same sort of thing bothers me with the 86's boxer engine. Just make it a 6 cylinder and it's a perfectly balanced engine... 4 cylinders is all wonky.

Florida and Texas have plenty of 25 and 30-year-old Toyota trucks with no rust. A lot of regular cab two-wheel drives going for around five grand.

Not sure about that engine, that's one platform I've yet to get behind the wheel of which annoys me because the one I've ridden in, the driver was definitely not a car guy. He was just an A to B and kind of look cool guy. So he has the Scion automatic from 2013.
