The picture is of the good side, the one that got bent is beyond repair and had the step tore off. I figured maybe someone did the same as me but wanted to keep the steps or needs it as back up. I’m just gonna run without anything until I get rock sliders, As one good side would look kinda weird.

Wish I could come because playing in the snow is hella fun and I've never been to Green Ridge....but work is making me come in tomorrow.

That said, I thought that the OHV trails were closed a few years ago.

    Hey all!
I'm new to the NOVA region (just moved out here last month)... it was a BIG move for me as I came from CA.

If anyone has any concerns about Tacomas surviving cross country drives; you should have none. This 2006 bad boy (with 160k miles ) made it cross country with no issues or check lights. Drove through dust storms, ice, snow, and even a hurricane.

Now for the fun stuff... my steering rack has a small leak and I can't seem to pinpoint it. Coincidently it started happening after I changed my inner tierods.
It's not a big enough leak where I'm constantly refilling the reservoir; but it's enough to dribble around the front cross arm and burn off on the cat when i drive around town.
It could be the metal lines or the seals in the rack & pinion. Judging by the age/mileage of my truck, I think need a new steering rack.

Any recommendations for a repair shop in the NOVA area? I received a few recommendations in another thread I posted in the Southeast Forum, but i figured I'd get more hits here.

    Thank you!
    Peter

I do most of my own work, but if it's something I can't do I use a place in Manassas called Convenience Car Care. I've never had any issue with them and their prices seem reasonable. You might stumble on a place called Lake Ridge Auto Care. It has good reviews, but I've had one or two horrible experiences with them. Recommended quite a bit of unnecessary work (as in stuff I had JUST done). Anyway.... I'm sure some others will chime in.

Same here, LRAC is not what they used to be.

As I mentioned in the other thread, Steve's auto Repair in Woodbridge is who I use (for many years) when I can't do it myself.

    Welcome!

Can confirm and +1 for Phil at NSS...he's my SIL's brother and a damn good mechanic. @persian451, you can add my name to the referral and maybe get a discount? Then again, maybe he'll charge you more if you mention me...:notsure: :D

I have Bilstein 5100 and 4600s that’s been sitting in my basement for a few months. Anyone know a place that can install them that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg?

He asked me this a month ago. I also told him to get in touch with Adam @ilubtimmyhos because to do it thru our shop was almost $400...and our mechanical labor rate per hour is much lower than most mechanic shops.
