The snowblower itself is solid, but would really love to replace the 3.5hp engine with a 5.5hp one; Gotta source a Toro 5521 that I can canibalize for parts!

My 27” Lava Grande won’t “lava” anymore; I moved to a new office last week and when I plugged it in for the first time, it didn’t even go through the normal “warming up” process. Now, it at least does that, but it doesn’t produce the little bubbles... :(

The silver lamp with the orange lava was one of two I scored from my friend in October when I helped him clear out his parents’ house to sell it; It was new in the box and never used (I’m guessing it’s 15-20 years old), and as you see it works fine...

What do you expect for something that cost twenty bucks? Every decent lava lamp I’ve ever had was $40-$50...

The Lava Grande was a Christmas present from my grandma back in 2009; At some point I was attempting to guess what the present was, and I stated within earshot of my grandma that the packaging seemed extremely similar to that of a giant lava lamp I'd seen for sale at Spencer's Gifts or something...

I didn't know my grandma heard me, and she later said she wanted to strangle me for correctly guessing her present before it was time to open it!

I've been rather disappointed with the performance of the Lava Grande compared to the various normal-sized lava lamps I've had over the last twenty years; That same grandma bought me my first lava lamp for Christmas in 1999, one with a black base and blue lava. I used that lava lamp as a nightlight until 2004 or so, when the little heating element came loose and started floating around. My parents bought me a new lava lamp (Though I forget which one it was; I believe it sort of resembled a rocketship and it wasn't as good as the first one); I've probably had half a dozen lava lamps over the years, not including the Lava Grande...

Like I said, the Lava Grande doesn't produce a large-scale version of the "show" produced by smaller lava lamps; Rather, it just produced a bunch of smaller bubbles that seemed to get more and more difficult to see with every passing year!

Found the exact lava lamp grandma bought me back in 2009; No way in hell I’m spending over $100 for a lava lamp!

My grandma got my two cousins lava lamps for Christmas in 1999 as well, and my one cousin decided she didn't want hers anymore when she went to college so she gave it to me in 2007-2008...

It had a gold base and green lava; It saw use at the Coffeehouse Center for about a year in 2009-2010, and then I took it with me when I left that place; I have not seen it in YEARS.

:santa: :santa2: My cousin didn't know what to buy me for Christmas this year, and I told her I wanted a punching bag; She was open to this until she saw how much a decent punching bag costs...

With the Lava Grande apparently shitting the bed, and the lava lamp I got for free from my friend brightening up my office at work, I realized I need a new lava lamp for my room! The one I want is just $32.50 for Amazon Prime members, so I sent her a pretty big hint and now I've just got to act surprised when I get it!

Found a mysterious dent in my tailgate this evening, and I’m 90% sure the office chairs I hauled earlier today had something to do with it...

I wish this driving school had been around when I was learning to drive; They specialize in training people with Aspergers and other autism spectrum disorders, as well as people with other special needs! I met the owner of the school at a car show back in May, and ended up behind him in Doylestown while he was teaching a teenage girl to drive; The car is a ex-Police Interceptor Ford that he bought from an auction. The car has a salvage title, but he paid cash for it and puts so many miles on it that the car’s resale value will be nonexistent anyway! It’s even an AWD model!
