Don't see that inscribed in books any more. Serious old school cool that manual is!

 

This is probably the worst thing I've ever done in Excel. But it worked so I stopped trying to come up with anything better.

That is essentially copied for about 15,000 lines and numerous columns. The "blank" Excel file that is in is 7.5 megs and appears to freeze while running. It usually finishes, though.

 

Thats not too terrible. Worst function I ever wrote that wasn't VBA code took 5 whole lines in the header function box and took me a full day to get right. It was at my last job or I'd post it here because it horrified my replacement when I showed her and tried to explain what it did.

What do you charge to do someone else's?

 

I've had to run a couple of people through my file. In the end, you just need to copy/paste two different Excel files into it on two different tabs and sit back while it crunches data. After it's done, copy the content of a third tab onto a 4th as values so you can sort as necessary without having to deal with the formulas. Simple!
