Because we know it’ll rain in a few days then freeze over.

My area is forecasting about 3" - 5" of snow, and my city has already painted the streets white with salt. My work is already set to cancel work too.

Welcome to RI. Half assed winters. Cold enough to snow, then it melts almost immediately since it's warmer/rain, so no snow for snow activities like skiiing snowmobiles etc, and it's warm enough that lakes don't freeze over well enough for a good ice skate/holding vehicle weight for ice fishing, etc. But it's still too cold and dark early that you can't be out hitting the MTB trails or whatever every day either. Sort of this weird limbo of bullshit.

Weather.com is calling for 8-12 overnight W into R, then another 3-5 on Thursday.

Tell me about it haha, I’ve been in RI for many a winter. Maybe 10-15 years ago I definitely remember local ponds freezing long enough to skate on often and there being snow on the ground for most of the winter. A noticeable change over time in severity of winters from my perspective anyway

You'd be seeing the same trend around here, if you were still in Maine. We've spent the last few winters mostly rain, it seems. 10-15 years ago you almost never saw bare ground between December and March, but the last couple of seasons it hasn't been the case.

Well in that case it was time well spent as I see it.

I broke that mold a few years ago, bit the bullet and dropped $800 on my Simplicity 24" That was when we got the 140 or something inches of snow.

She said "gimme 6 inches and make it hurt" so I banged her 3 times and punched her in the nose

Ice is the worst,,, for people and wildlife..

I’ve been in Coös for close to 20 years and it’s very different from our first few winters here.
