Cheap ass Toyota stereo. The best way to fix it is to go here: https://www.crutchfield.com/car/outfitmycar/mycar.aspx

Pick out a nice stereo that does what you want with the best support before and after the sale. Everything you need to install it yourself.

Okay...the screen is black, so I have no touchscreen, ...everything else works...radio (although Im guessing where the buttons are...the phone works, the steering wheel buttons work, but the screen is black, so no backup camera...do I need a complete new radio? or just the screen?

As I said above, I would not waste time fixing a Turd... It is still going to be a turd even if you fix it for now. They are known to have issues such as rebooting and going blank. My wife's Highlander does it has these issues and she refuses to let me replace it, she just lives with it.

The first thing I did when I got my truck was replace the stereo, before it had 100 miles on it. You can do it yourself for waaaay less than a new factory replacement and have a 300% improvement in function.

I tried the crutchfield route...what a cluster! First they sent me the wrong radio and after 2.5 hours of chatting on the phone with the tech, he said whoops! Your radio won't support satellite radio! Then they sent me a second radio, and after 3 hours of hooking it up, satellite radio worked, but backup cam did not...i then put the factory radio back in and called Toyota...they want 3000 dollars for a new radio, and 879 for a reconditioned one...i guess its thexwrecking yard for me...anybody have a pic of the back of the factory radio with everyrlthing plugged in? I just want to make sure I did it correctly

What does a aftermarket radio have to do with a Toyota OEM touchscreen?

Sorry...I'm using the term radio incorrectly...the touchscreen ( which I use to play the radio) is what doesn't work...the pic helps, but is different than the unit in my 14...i think I know what I did , just have to make the adjustment when I reinstall the new touchscreen
