Is it possible to use shift sense pro with a tune? This is just a question of what's possible so please refrain from stoning me to death. Thank you.

The car I did this is on is now with Magnuson SC tune, which is locked for tune.
I therefore cannot still do much experimenting with the car.

I was just talking to a person that got kicked into Limp Mode on a 2020 with a SSP. It was on a low setting also. Like two or three?

First I've heard of this. SSP only has 3 levels/shifting maps...Were they running tune + SSP or SSP only?

Same. I've heard of some problems with a PedalCommander set high with the tune.

It was a Stock 2020 AT.

Oh! Then, they were set pretty high then. I assumed it was like a PC with nine or ten levels.

Just pull a battery terminal or do a DTC reset. Any OBD device can do it.

There are different levels of DTCs though. Some are permanently stored and take a long time to clear. I can't remember if permanent DTCs can be cleared with an LV Reset.

I have used both SSC and PC with the tune before I found they were not recommended. Didn’t have a problem but have heard there have been problems with both. With MD’s tune there certainly is no need for either. In the wild tune if you breathe on the pedal it goes and he can tune the shift points for you

    @Mooseditty17 ,

Were you able to figure out TC partial locking in 4th? I have set my 4 S2 table to 70, but I still see RPMs drop/ignition retard on the on-ramp, etc. RPMS drop by 110. Not a lot , but messing up the acceleration

    Thanks

So I've now got 1000 miles on @Mooseditty17 's Mild 2 wild tune (by @DownhillDragon ) and thought I would give a quick review...

Pros: It changes the truck. The shift wondering at highway speeds is gone, the shift points are almost perfect, the shifts themselves are much improved, and overall it just feels like the truck makes more power.

I have 31" tires (265/75/16) and was considering 4.88 gears even though my truck is a lightweight. I don't feel the urge at all anymore.

Cons: I've experienced only one really. At times, the trans is slow to upshift once a cruise speed is obtained. Here's an example:

I drive down a road that has a 55mph speed limit every day. As I get to speed, the truck is in 5th gear at 55mph and a tad over 2000 rpm. If I keep the throttle constant at that speed, it takes close to 30 seconds for the tranny to shift to 6th and the RPMs to drop under 2k. I can, however, blip the throttle a bit, bring the speed up and then settle back towards 55mph to get the truck to shift to 6th instantly.

A small annoyance for such a drastic improvement in overall performance, but I thought I would mention it.

Bonus: I have a very old, but very light (2200 pounds) aluminum travel trailer. In stock form, the truck pulled it fine... but shifted constantly. With the M2W tune, I just stick it in S4 and forget about it... Does fantastic.

It's almost certain to never go unnoticed. But where I have it now I do accept it. Same for 3rd gear half lock. I also did similar to 5th what you did to sixth. Drops to half lock instead of skipping to unlocked 4th. Much improved driving experience.

The annoyance can be fine tuned. Monitor your accelerator % and lower the shift points nearest the area. It'll grab instead of holding up.

can I assume that "accelerator %" in OBD Fusion is "Accelerator Angle" in VFT? Just want to monitor the correct parameter as I need to also try to tune the rpm drop out when shifting to 4th..

    Thanks,

    John

I honestly like how it holds but I blip the ECT (as I drive with it ON) and it shifts. So it's tuned for giddy-up but when I start cruising I just toggle. For "me" its the best of both....I don't wanna tune it out.

4th gear slip lock is pretty dialed in on the Mild and Wild 3.1 tune. I'm running my own tune with the 3rd and 5th gear TC settings, and I do rather enjoy it.

Can someone provide more detail on the maps used for the torque converter changes? I see 4th Gear, then 4th gear 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...

Are you only making changes on the spec gear map i.e. "4th Gear" ?

In looking at the other tables in each gear it looks like Gear, 2, 3 have the same accelerator angles and speeds, but 4, 5, 6 and 7 have higher angles and speeds.

    Thanks in advance,

    John
