Y'know. See if you can measure the overall height of the main unit. From the cardboard to the contact surface. Lay a straight edge across and measure that distance.

There's a spacer in there too. Roughly 3/4" thick or so. See if you can get a number there too plz.

No worries. That’s what the site is all about. If you need anymore or redo any of the ones I sent to double check just ask. It’s no bother.

@BillDaCat8 what is your goal with the new bearing here? Not sure if you've already said or not. Are you trying to fix the ClutchMasters flaws yourself, or going back to an old setup? Its so hard to believe that this issue has been widely known for years now and there is still no definitive fix.

How many of you have had success with this kit? Have they addressed the leaking bearing issues or would it be better to hold off on purchasing still?

I'd avoid them at all costs. Looks like there are still issues and the worst part is they refuse to stand by their product.

Yikes thanks thats all i need to hear, Man that sucks I was really hoping that the cm kit would work... has anyone actually got rid of the problem 100%? Im starting to think i just need to learn to live with it already :/
I removed my inspection plate yesterday to see what goes on in the bell housing and saw that there was some drag on the shaft the tob slides on when the clutch was released, im guessing this isnt normal right? Does this mean my quill is too far gone and i need the urd sleeve if i ever want to get rid of the squeak? Strangely after pushing on the release fork toward the slave cylinder for a bit with the truck off the squeak stopped for maybe 20 miles for returning but was idling fine with no squeak, it usually squeaks from the second i turn it on and gets louder as it warms up so this was weird however i have no explanation. I have some videos i’ll upload once i figure out how to do so
I was planning on swapping out my master and slave cylinder for the tsb parts next but am unsure now

Users seem to fall into one of three groups. First group have no issues with everything running fine. Second group has inconsistent pedal feel and randoming engagement, stiff or light feel depending on the day, heat, and time driving. The third group is the leaking bearing group. Luck of the draw on which group you will be a part of.

I am working on something similar to this. But certainly will not be using any CM stuff. I’m in the “rounding up parts” stage. I will post up what I’ve done once I’m sure it’s all going to work nicely.

Finding that bearing was a first step. Now that I’ve got it in hand; I’m still not 100% happy with it. I’ve ordered a few others to look at and measure. They should be trickling in over the next few days.

Not having looked into sizing very much, I suggest considering Toyota part number 90363-40022.

Just sold mine yesterday. I just didn’t want to take the gamble. It very well could’ve been a fool proof unit, and I hope it is being that I sold it to a member that saw me post about it here. I just like reliable solid mods that perform as stated without question.

a lot of bad ass stuff
Just know that URD has stated that the sleeve is not a 100% guaranteed fix (unless they are stating differently now). I went this route couple of years back. At first, the noise was gone. but the noise came back. and eventually my quill snapped off in my bell housing.
Im currently running the CM kit and will say I have not had any issues other than ever so often my pedal gets really stiff and then loosens back up (hasn't happened in a long time). However with reports of lack of customer service from CM I would be hesitant to buy from them again.

lol. That is one of three different bearings on order. Fits all kinds of older Toyotas.

    Todays findings...

The bearing CM is using with these kits is too small in diameter. I went and found my OE clutch and flywheel today and bolted it all together. The OE bearing contacts the fingers of the pressure plate in a 68-70-ish mm circle. Yes, the pressure plate is bolted down to the flywheel in these pics.

    42534173-A1BD-4CC2-9505-EE633DBEFA45.jpg

The bearing they’re using measures 61mm (2.39”) at the contact point (fulcrum)

    A1CC38D9-1280-4D6E-8FA0-986771F182DF.jpg

This means that their bearing is just barely catching the tips of the fingers of the pressure plate.

Hence my wanting to use something else.

I was in the “inconsistent feel and engagement” group as well as the “leaking pos” group.
