I don't know. if this is new information but the 4th gen is coming soon. Someone I know has cad files of it and I was told it looks crazy good. Should be coming hopefully by like 2024 maybe. Don't take my word for that.

I wasn't even able to see them, he would get in big trouble I guess if he showed me. He designs accessories for Yota . Just wanted to share the information!

Hahaha if only, he told me it looks way cooler than 3rd gen. I'm hoping there is an engine change but that's just my preference.

Hope it doesn't have those crazy high bed sides like other trucks lately.

It’s not the first time taco owners have expressed a different engine, I’m guessing for more power? So why do we wait for an engine change? Rebuild it! Heck, when I think back to high school, early 80’s, we drove our classic cars and we rebuilt our engines. WHAT??! ya, that’s right! Bore the cylinders, upgrade the valves, springs, cams and pistons and if we still wanted more AFTER doing that, we looked at superchargers. There are engine shops in ever city on earth that will rebuild that 3.5L and make it better than factory.

I still have two 327s, one with vette heads and carb change in my 67 Camaro and the factory matching serial # stock block rebuilt sitting on an engine stand. I was porting and raising compression on my 2 stroke moto X bikes (Honda Elsinores) at age 16-18 and winning races with it every Sunday. The VVT, Fuel injection with intense electronics has made it much more difficult to be successful and experiment in todays world, IMO. We had shop classes in high school where you could bring in your own car and do what ever you wanted to it. This all goes back to the muscle car area.. when guys all wanted muscles cars in high school and there were no computers for research or cell phones to play with.. times have changed...

I would like a V8 option but we will probably get a Toyota EcoBoost 4 banger instead.

I'd like the diesel used by Toyota in other parts of the world... come on Toyota!

Toyota has said repeatedly, for at least ten years, they will not be bringing diesel to the American market.

Your future is electric. Set your hopes on an i4 hybrid

and you thought towing over 3000lb was a hassle with the V6, now imagine a I4 hybrid attempting that.

IMO it has more to do with USA emissions with diesels that Toyota isn't in the financial mood to meet.

The UK, NZ and others are setting up bans for fuel powered vehicles starting as soon as 2025. A smart auto maker would be investing in electric and battery tech. That's where we're headed.
