    I got a tacoma TRD sport 4x4 2020. Attached is the GVWR 5600lb and also pasenger weight of 900lb.
    I'm getting this trailer. passport SL 239ml
    shipping weight = 4,430 lb.
    carrying capacity = 2,000 lb.
    hitch = 436 lb.
    tire size = ST205/75R15D

    Family weight = 400lbs
    food = 100lbs
    bike = 50 lbs
    blanket/pillow = 50lbs
    pots/pan/etc 50lbs
    misc = 100lbs

    I will be getting the brake controller P3 and also weight distrubition Equalizer E2 and a backup wireless camera.

    I think I should be able to handle this pretty nicely right? I live in California, Los Angeles, and just camping around this area within a 100miles radius.
    Should be good? please advise if i'm missing anything.

    thank you..

    Looks like you forgot water and the WDH, also anything you add will increases tongue weight. Did that include LPG? Something that long, you are going to want more tongue weight to compensate for the sway even with a WDH. Been there and done that. You will be maxed out on everything. Also with mine, could not find a hitch that supported more that 550 tongue and 5500 max tow, even though the truck was specked at 6500, door sticker. Factory hitch, that comes with tow package was max 5000lbs, at least for my year. The novelty wares off really fast.
    Biggest thing, traffic, I would rather go 30 mph over the divide than drive in traffic, especially LA traffic. The camping part is awesome though. We got the biggest TT we could because of our 3, 60lbs+ dogs and just traded up to a bigger truck. Rolfe has a new ride, he was my son's dog, so he's the favorite. After 2 years, I got to the point where I didn't want to tow. What ever you a comfy with though, you are the one towing. Also, the specs on weights, don't count on them being spot on. Ours weighed in, 223lbs more than the door sticker says and factory doesn't know why, they had it doing warranty work. From what I've read its not uncommon.

    I would not want to tow all that with my 2019. It may well do it but you are asking alot from your truck.

    Yeah, i'm planning to get this trailer because the smaller one with less weight only have single axle. i wanted the dual axle becuase incase a tire pop the trailer sitll good shape as to if the single axle. if one of the tire flat. the trailer will be in danger. If you know what i mean? If that is not a concern i would get a smaller model. But in two year i will get a tundra to tow this. So for now i just gotta live with this? or should I get a single axle trailer with less weight?

    My 2 cents, so it's worth about that.

    You'll be pushing (if not over) your cargo weight with that tongue weight and the accessories you've itemized. With that being said.... if you're looking at LA +- 100 miles, it can't be *that* much stress on you and the vehicle to drive for 2-3 hours. If you're buying the trailer new, you'll take a beating when you go to upgrade, so consider that.

    You ever tow anything heavy before. It can be done with experience.

    I towed my Passport 2400BH for 2 years with the taco. It came in at 4810
    Lbs dry. I was comfortable with it. Like said everyone’s comfort level is different. I was used to big trailers and heavy loads though. What some would consider a white knuckle experience I consider not that bad. But I can tell you with the new diesel it’s a dream towing it and almost double the fuel mileage. Went from 8 mpg with the taco to 14.6 with the big truck. 4 tanks a trip down to 2. If you can manage till you get the Tundra you’ll be fine.

    Last year's travels had me running SD to Point Mugu via the 405, then across city streets to my friends place in Van Nuys . I was towing just a 17 ft popup. Of all the hairy things I've pulled that trailer through, narrow switchbacks, squeezing between trees on the trail, parallel parking in downtown Dallas at 5pm, the 405 had to be the hairiest by far. And that's coming from someone who isn't at all afraid of heavy aggressive traffic. It's just a different animal when you have a trailer and people are trying to merge without looking.

    I think you're going to hate towing it to be honest. You won't have the power to move with the stop and go traffic. People will pull out in front of you and the constant braking then desperately trying to claw back some speed is going to break your soul a little. That goes double for the surface streets that wind through the hills. But it sounds like you already made up your mind on the trailer. All's I can say is best of luck to you.

    sorry I have nothing of value to contribute, you lost me at towing a password.

    and nothing but snarky remarks about a 900lb passenger.

    I know you want responsible feedback, and I feel terrible that I have none to give. I thank the more adult members of the forum in advance.

    The grapevine? You mean the sleepy little town about 4.5 miles north of me? Oh... the other grapevine. :)

    Yeah, the other grapevine. The stretch of I-5 between LA and Bakersfield that has numerous sections for people to pull off when their vehicles overheat

    thank you all. i did more research and indeed my 2020 TRD sport 4x4 can tow 6800. it was my bad.. So my max weight combine with everything should be around 5600 give or take.. So I should be ok. 80% capacity.

    Question for all ya..
    Why in Los Angeles Area the travel trailer are so expensive then like out of state. I got a quote from Arizona with the sam mode quoted me OTD price $26500 and the one in Riverside , CA quoted me same trailer, $19,230 OTD. question for you all is it worth the drive to arizona which is 387 miles to get to? to save $2800?

    For me I think its worth it becuase i'll take my family to arizona to play and meanwhile just tow the trailer home? sound good? comment? thank you..

    Not sure about the math...doesnt add up that well...but look at it this way....its basically a two day trip. Do you make 1,400 a day at your job?
