Final question, an adapter will be needed for both the KC Gravity G4 or the DD, right? I see the DD comes with a adapter, does the KC?

Thanks Crash, you've been a tremendous help! So I guess i'll be upgrading both the harness and the bulbs. Now I just have to decide which bulbs to get.

The KC has vehicle specific housing kit. It’s plug and play.

it’s funny because in person I didn’t really notice a color difference. But in the photo it does look a bit more green.

Go Osram Super Bright 100/90w 2900 lumen H4s and don't look back. The only downside is bulb life, but they're not THAT expensive to replace. IMO, the improved illumination is worth the cost.

The bigger hassle for me would be actually replacing them than the cost. Those spring clips are a MF to deal with.

Correct. If you get a Tacoma specific kit with either the G4 or the SS3 it will have all necessary brackets and wiring to do a full swap. No additional parts necessary if you're swapping OEM fog lights in a stock bumper for something else.

I can relate to that! FWIW, I've run Osram Super Bright 100/90w 2900 lumen H4s for years and I really don't recall replacement being required often enough to trouble me. Besides, (spring clip) practice makes perfect... :crapstorm:

I broke one on my stock headlight, the plastic part that holds the clip, so when I got new ones, it was easier and safer just to take out the assembly than risk breaking it again. I'd rather play it safe than sorry.

Hey thanks for so much info, looking around on rigids site so I can bookmark stuff and figure out the order of action, and Im able to find the SAE mount kit but nothing as far as amber options or anything like that. Could you pm or link in this forum the amber SAE's?

Note that the color is selective yellow, not amber. Rigid's site is very frustrating to find products on, I cannot find the D-series in selective yellow or the Tacoma specific 360 kit in selective yellow on the site. Here is the 360 selective yellow fogs, in a non-Tacoma mount:

Here is the D-series in selective yellow:

Here is the 360 in Tacoma mount kit in selective yellow:

Thanks man, honestly it amazes me how many of these companies in niche markets have non functional sites. Part of why I was debating going to school for web developing lol.

For shits and giggles can you also do a side by side with the first yellow lens as well?

Anticipation on receiving the SS3 Max's is getting real.

For amusement I already posted that output here. It isn’t compliant as expected, which is why DD made a new selective yellow optic for the Max. I think what would be more interesting is to see the difference between the Sport/Pro selective yellow vs the Max.

Been having a blast with my ss3 sports. I have them on everytime I drive, both city and highway and they help tremendously even though I already have retrofitted h1 projectors. I was concerned with excess foreground light before I installed my sports and it turned out to be a non issue.

Now that the maxes are out, can anyone chime in if they are driving with these on both city and highway? Any excess foreground light that may affect your distance view?

The Max is higher in output intensity than the stock 3rd Gen headlights, they will certainly cause excess foreground light for daily driving when not needed. For how you describe your use, the Sports are a better fit. The extreme output of the Max will be best used in poor weather conditions when the excessive foreground lights is needed to help find the edges of the road in low visibility conditions.

When is Diode Dynamics going to make headlight pods?

Their driving light is an aux high beam pattern. Not much market for a low beam pod though since a pod cannot practically replace a headlight assembly. But in standardized replaceable assemblies like a 7” round or 7x6 it would make sense. Rigid (Truck-lite), KC, JW Speaker and others make products in that headlight market space.

Found a Guy on offer up claiming his D series Rigids are amber however the Lense is clear. Is the guy falsely advertising what he's got? And if so is it possible to convert the white ones to amber for cheap because he is selling two pods for 125.

Update- He claims the bulbs inside are amber but has clear lenses. Im going to link the listing so you can see what I'm talking about
