McAfee makes a computer run slower than if you had an actual virus! Personally I use the free version of AVG. There may be better ones out there it's just one I've used for a long time and it works.

Negative. It allows you to access content as if you were in another country by routing all your traffic through someone else's computer/server.

Just from my personal experience, when we used McAfee and Symantec on our workstations, we had significantly more infections than after we upgraded everything to Windows 10 with managed Defender.
