The Expanse (Syfy then Prime series & Some Book Stuff)- Still Canceled

Are we supposed to like Chrisjen Avasarala?

I hate everything about this character. Her voice, her lines, her delivery, her fake use of random expletives. So I don't know if you don't like the role or the acting, well OK I don't don't like any of it. So this adds a dynamic to the show for me.................

 

I liked the character better the second time around. Even liked the forced profanity more..

 

She takes some getting used to, but I think she's a badass.

 

I think I will just convert her to the Marlboro man in my head to deal with her voice and be good with her.

 

Need advice from the book readers. Just finished book 3 of WOT. Do I a) rewatch Expanse and also briefly interrupt WOT to start book 1 of the Expanse, or b) rewatch Expanse and finish WOT before starting book 1?

What makes The Expanse work in the end is that you can identify with all three groups on different levels at various times. That level of writing requires maturity and wisdom to pull off, something that is almost obsolete in the film industry currently. I'm still waiting for the Prime Video execs/screenwriters/directors to ruin it, like every other show on Prime *cough*Jack Ryan*cough*, but maybe the book authors can hold them off long enough to allow the series to end with grace.

 

Had to stick with it, but by the 2nd season I was hooked.

 

S5 E1 now available.

 

I like all of the above, and unusual for me but I still like Holden best, but I am just starting 4 - 9 so we will see.
I hated Miller first season, but the guy grew on me.
Drummer - she is either ugly or sexy, but I like the way she commands.

I was digging the Mao sisters for obvious reasons.

No. Been debating if I should.

A bit of history- I picked up the GOT books after a few seasons. Got through the first one and didn’t gain anything from it because, IMHO, the first season was the first book. I left the rest on the shelf.

I’m thinking/hoping the same wouldn’t be for The Expanse. Any thoughts?
