But yeah, he's indeed a good dude and a hell of a mechanic....I know him well from the old days, dealing with him over at JEI when I was into Hondas and the like. Blew my mind when he left JEI tbh

 

And it's a 2wd tacoma, so that makes the job a bit easier

Not calling for as much as previously thought, but I stayed home from work anyway. Probably going to have to keep my parents driveways cleared also up in Fort Valley.

 

It's 6 deg up here in NH but partly sunny, no snow on the ground or in the forecast, if you can believe it.

 

Yesterday, I got the cmc on @bojinns truck done. Good guy and a nice Tacoma. I was going to take pics throughout the process, but only took this one and then forgot to keep taking pics....but turned out great and had him on his way by lunchtime!

I use a Matco cut-off tool like this with the safety cover off and a 4" disc on it

 

Yikes looks like some Fluid Film love is needed inside the cab mount.

Truthfully it was beyond that. It's an '06 and had some serious frame rust issues. He's been trying to stave it off by keeping it sprayed with undercoating. He also had it inspected by a dealership for a few years ago and they said there was no rust issue Now he's too late for the new frame swap. I would have been taking it back to Toyota to make them replace the frame. There's no way that rust became that bad in the last couple of years...it was there when they inspected it. They just missed it.
He just needs it to last him another year or two before he can get a newer Tacoma
